This is Step 1 of a series: How to Set Up Tributes

Allow your supporters to dedicate their donation in honor or in memory of a loved one ❤️ and send a beautifully crafted notification to a recipient.

Organization Settings

Click on your Profile icon in the upper right hand corner with your initials and select Organization Settings
Scroll down to Tributes and Dedications
Select + Add or Click on an existing Tribute to Edit

The View Tributes Report will take you to a report of all your tributes and allow you to mange and print letters.

General

Tribute Type

Set the Name of your tribute and the style (In-Memory or In-Honor)
Set the tribute Style (In-Memory or In-Honor): The tribute style determines the messaging displayed to your supporters on Giving Experiences and in the email and letter notifications.
You have the option to enable or disable making the Tribute Type visible.
- This will determine if it can be added to a Giving Experiences and items
- It will also limit that Tribute Type form being shown to donors for classic items where all Tribute Options is blank which includes all enabled Tribute Types

Card Art (Giving Experience)

This option allows you to make images available for your donor to select when at the Customize Card step of the Giving Experience.

Enable or disable Givecloud's Card Art Library
- Include Givecloud's library of card art which includes animated artwork
Add custom named images for supporters to optionally select
- Upload custom images to add to the selection of artwork for your supporters to choose from

Custom Image Guidelines

Image Requirements

Optimal Size: 1100 x 636 pixels
Supported Formats: JPG, PNG, GIF

Tip: If possible, avoid having text within images. Otherwise, there's a risk of words being cut off.

Text Overlay

Supporter-entered headlines appear in black at the center of the image, along with donation information.
This text can be disabled if preferred.
Tip: Use images with a light background for better readability.

GIF Handling

GIFs are converted to PNG at a static point of the GIFand included in the PDF letter. This image will always be the same.

Image Order & Display

Arrange images in your preferred order.
Custom artwork (if enabled) will appear before Givecloud’s Card Art Library images.

Text overlays artwork (only applies to custom art)

Enabled
- Headline and system message are overlayed on top of artwork
- Custom email or letter using [[artwork]] merge tag will include artwork with headline and Givecloud created donation message overlayed.
Disabled
- Headline and system message are placed underneath the artwork
- Custom email or letter using [[artwork]] merge tag will only include artwork image and you will need to include the headline and create your own message if needed.

Be sure to include the card art merge tag [[artwork]] in your email and letter if using custom email and letter templates. See Merge Tag Guide for Tributes.

Hide Donation Amount

You can now hide the donation amount in system-generated tribute messages (email + eCard).

This updates:

The message sent to recipients
The donor-facing preview during checkout

You can also preview an example of the message in by hovering over the tooltip icon.

Classic Card Art

Add an image that can be used in classic donation forms.

Email Settings

This allows you to configure the email that will be sent to the recipient of a tribute. This email will be sent to a recipient when a supporter chooses to dedicate their donation and chooses either Email (sent directly to dedicatee) or Print-at-Home (sent to donor) (Giving Experiences) delivery options.

Automatic

Use Givecloud's formatted email for a streamlined setup and highest donor satisfaction.

Custom

You also have the flexibility to setup a custom email instead of using the automatic email.

Customize your email with the following:

Subject
CC
BCC
Email Editor
- Standard editing tools available to customize your email
- Use the following icon to select from a list of supported merge tags;

Letter Settings

Configure the letter that will be generated for you to print and send to the recipient of a tribute. This letter will be included as an attached pdf to the email. This letter will also be generated when a supporter chooses to dedicate their donation and chooses the Letter delivery option.

Custom

You also have the flexibility to setup a custom letter instead of using the automatic letter.

Customize your letter by using the editing tools available to format your letter. Use the following icon to select from a list of supported merge tags;

IMPORTANT: Make sure you to use the Tribute Artwork merge tag to include the artwork created by the supporter.

The merge tag is [[artwork]] and if selecting from the merge tag editor you will want to select Tribute Artwork.

Multilingual Tributes (Giving Experiences)

Allow your donors to send a tribute notification in the language of their choice.

Use the language selector in the top right to switch between supported languages (EN, FR, ES) to customize your tributes for each language that you offer in your Giving Experiences.
