Custom domain for the Survey app

Host surveys on your own subdomain after DNS verification — links and previews switch from the default GiveMe5 survey host to your brand.

Overview

By default, public survey links use the shared host survey.gm5.ai. In Domain Setup, you can verify a Survey app domain so https survey URLs use your subdomain instead once DNS checks succeed.

Configuration lives under Domain Setup (account-level), in the Survey app section, implemented as Survey app domain setup: enter the domain, add the DNS records shown, then run verification.

What you can do here:

  • Choose a dedicated subdomain for surveys (for example surveys.yourbrand.com — follow the exact host your admin or GiveMe5 specifies)

  • Complete DNS — copy the records from the setup, publish them at your DNS provider, wait for propagation

  • Verify — the app confirms ownership and marks the Survey domain verified

  • Remove or change — use the controls in the same section if you need to disconnect a domain (confirm prompts carefully)

After verification

When a Survey app domain is verified, the Dashboard resolves public survey links, URL preview in Data mapping, and merge-tag Survey url preview samples against your domain instead of the default. Until verification succeeds, Survey app links continue to use survey.gm5.ai.

Survey QR codes, Distribution copy links, and list-row “open live survey” actions all respect the verified host.

If you do not see Survey app

Domain Setup is under your account settings. If the Survey app section is not listed, your organization may use the default survey host only—check with GiveMe5 support.
