Electra charging stations are compatible with many charging cards, making it easy to start a charging session without using the app.
❓Why can't some cards be added to the app?
Although most cards work directly on our stations, not all can be added to the Electra app. Here are the main reasons:
Technical constraints: Some card operators don't use a format compatible with our system
No usage history: The card must have been used at least once on an Electra station before it can be added
Specific location: This option is available only in Belgium and Luxembourg.
📵 Cards commonly not compatible with the app
Some cards have known limitations, including:
Some Chargemap cards
Shell cards
Total Fleet cards
💡 What to do if the card is not accepted?
You can only add a badge to the app by scanning it with NFC. If you don't have an Android device, here are some alternatives:
Use the badge directly at the terminal—it will still work at the terminal even if it can't be added to the app
Add a credit card to the app as an alternative
💡 When using a charging card, the rate applied is that of the card operator, not Electra's.
⚡️ Autocharge and charging cards
It is possible to configure Autocharge with a charging card as a payment method, but some restrictions apply:
Not all cards are compatible with Autocharge
By using a card as a payment method for Autocharge, the ELECTRA+ rate will not apply
Billing will always depend on your card operator
For any additional questions regarding your card's compatibility, feel free to contact us via the app's chat or by email ⚡️
