In the Elate platform, objectives are high level goals you wish to achieve that roll up to one of your company themes. Objectives should be aspirational and measured with key results (in Elate, the key results would be outcomes and tactics). Each objective will have a defined owner who will be responsible for updating the status, updating any key results that are not connected to any integrations or embeds, and providing commentary. Adding an Objective from a Team Overview Page
There are a two ways you are able to add objectives in Elate. The first way is to add objectives directly on a team overview page. To begin, use the left side panel to navigate to the team you wish to add the objective to. This will be the team responsible for the objective. Haven't created your teams yet? Be sure to check out this article first.

From the Team Page, click the blue + Add Objective button in the upper right corner. Please note the duration directly above the +Add Objective button. This duration will follow you through the platform and only show you information that falls in that specific duration. When you add an objective, it will be set to that duration by default but please note you are able to change that later from the objective details page.
Not seeing the option to Add an Objective? Remember, in order to add an objective to a team, you must be a member of that team or an Admin user in your Elate account.
You will then be prompted to name your objectives as well as entering basic details about the objective (Duration, Theme, & Owner). Once you have done so, select the blue Create button.
You will then be taken to the objective details modal for your new objective. From this modal you can:
Add or Link Outcomes to your Objective to help you track your progress and stay on track.
Add practical next steps to your Objective by creating "Tactics".
Edit details to your Objective on the right-hand side including adding a purpose statement, changing the duration of the objective, changing the team responsible, adding/changing ownership, and adding tags.
Collaborate with your team by adding comments.
Assign effort and value to your objective
IMPORTANT: In the lower right corner of the objective details modal you will see Linked Theme. You are also able to add a parent objective and/or child objective by selecting the + button next to each option, if applicable. Please note if you are trying to add a parent/child objective, it will need to be created before selecting the + button.
You are now ready to add key results to your objective! Key Results can either be an Outcome (think: measurable result) or a Tactic (think: high level tasks that are measured on a progress bar from 0-100% complete). Here you are able to click into each theme and view how your objectives roll into each theme to form a tree like visual. From here, you're able to select the blue +Add Objective to Theme button under each theme to add objectives. If you want to add child objectives to an objective, select the parent objective then select the blue +Add Child Objective button. When you select either blue button, you will be prompted to name your objective and assign a team responsible. Once you do this, select the blue Submit button.
You will then see your new objective rolling up to the theme or parent objective you added it to.
From here, select the expand icon in the top right corner of the objective to open the objective details modal.
From this modal you can:
