By using Saved Views in the Plan Execution tab, you are able to efficiently view and easily revisit the objectives and outcomes that matter the most to you and your business, saving you time and helping you quickly access your most valuable data.

Why Use Saved Views

Filters in Elate's Plan Execution tab help you create a customized view of your objectives and outcomes. Being able to save a specific view gives you the ability to quickly revisit the same relevant report view time and time again.

Saved views can even be pulled into Advanced Reports, eliminating the need to spend time manually linking individual objectives, outcomes, and tactics to your reports. Saved views are updated dynamically, so you can ensure that your advanced report is always up to date with the latest information. This allows you to save time while proactively reviewing the latest updates!

Don't have Advanced Reporting? Try creating a saved view to pull in relevant information for a team meeting! This allows you to spend more time discussing what's important and less time navigating to objectives, outcomes, and tactics since the view will be dynamically updated with the information you need!

How to Save Views for Objectives

To begin, navigate to the Plan Execution tab using the left side panel.

This power table will display all active objectives that fall in the duration in the top right corner. The duration at the top is set to Apr 2023 - Mar 2024 so only objectives within that duration will show up. If you need to change the duration, you can click it to change it or use the arrows to go forward and back in time.

Please note you are also able to change the columns that you see in this power table by selecting the column icon.

You will then be able to select or unselect the columns you want to see on the power table. Once you're done, hit the blue Update button in the bottom left corner of the pop out. The power table will then reflect the changes you made.

To filter, select the blue filter icon in the top right.

The filter pop out is where you are able to select the criteria for your objectives. In the screenshot below, the filter is set to show objectives where the status is At Risk or Behind.

Once you are happy with the filters you have in place, you can select the X in the corner of the filter pop out and select the blue Save View button.

You will then be prompted to name your view and select the visibility. You can choose to save the view as private or public. If you select public, this view will be available for all users to see. Please note you must have the permission role of Admin to save a view as public. If you select private only you will be able to see this view. Once you have entered a name and selected the visibility, select the blue Save button in the bottom right corner.

Your view is now saved and you are able to use the dropdown in the top left of the screen to toggle between views. This is where you are able to see private and public views as well as Elate views that are preloaded into your account for easy viewing!

Now that your view is saved you can easily navigate to it to have a quick line of sight into the objectives that matter most to you!

Use Saved Views to Power Advanced Reports

If you're creating Advanced Reports, saving the views you want to pull in to your report helps save time and increase efficiency! Here are some tips to keep in mind if you are creating saved views to pull into an Advanced Report:

  • When naming your view, try to be concise and informative because this name will show up on the report. The name should resonate with the team while also letting them know exactly what they're looking at.

  • Don't forget about tags! Tags are incredibly powerful when creating saved views. For example, if you have a tag titled "Blocked Objectives", your team is able to tag their objectives with this if they run into any blockers. Creating saved views with this tag will allow you to dynamically see what objectives are blocked. To learn more about tags, check our our Guide to Tags!
