Overview

This article will help you understand the difference between a web admin and a recorder, the types of audiences you can build, and the meaning of your workspace and a campaign.

Web Admins

As a web admin, you have access to both the webpage workspace and mobile app. You can add as many admins to your workspace as you’d like, although we recommend limiting it to 5!

Admins are able to:

  1. Add or remove admin members to the workspace.

  2. Assign recording tasks to recorders.

  3. Configure single-sign on.

  4. Create, manage, and launch campaigns (video, email, and SMS).

  5. Approve/reject videos from recorders.

There are no hierarchies in the Goodkind system – so any activity that one admin does is visible to all the other admins!

Recorders

A recorder can be anyone of your choosing! It can be yourself, a student or faculty member assigned to record videos and get your messages out to the world. They can be anyone, from anywhere, as long as you trust them and they’re willing to put in the time to record a great video.

Recorders only have access to the mobile app or web (desktop) recording. As part of the design of Goodkind, recorders are unable to send a video message without an admin assigning a recording task. They won’t have access to your campaign, contact, or analytics data unless they are also set as an admin inside your workspace.

Audiences

An audience is a section of your contacts (your customers, supporters, students, etc.) that you want to send video messages to. Audiences are easiest to build by sorting them into groups and mapping your contacts before you upload to Goodkind.

💡 Note: When building an audience / adding contacts you must include

  • First Name.

  • Last Name.

  • Email.

When launching a campaign, there are 3 ways to build an audience in Goodkind.

Each option allows you to segment your contacts based on attributes that you are interested in. For example, when a customer fills out an inquiry form.

Workspace

The Goodkind workspace is the control centre for everything you do on the platform.

In your workspace you plan and construct campaigns, invite and assign storytellers, import and manage contacts and get access to all the settings attached to your account.

Campaign

A campaign in Goodkind is the main focus of your workspace. A campaign is a combination of the following components: Video, Audience, Recorder, Call to Action.

Every campaign has a unique identifier known as a campaign ID. They can be used to import contacts, setup CRM integrations, or to help your support team troubleshoot any campaign issues you may encounter.

You can locate the campaign ID in 2 ways:

  1. Copy the URL and use the text after "Campaign/"

  2. In the Campaigns tab on the right of your campaign, press on the 3 dot icon and select Copy ID.

We have 3 campaign types to structure outreach to your audience:

  1. One-to-one: a video sent specifically to a single individual, addressing them by name and featuring a message meant specifically for them. A one-to-one is the most powerful way to build connection using Goodkind.

  2. One-to-many: a more generic message, delivered to a group of people and delivering a message to everyone apart of the audience list. A one-to-many is extremely valuable as part of a longer customer journey.

  3. Collect videos: a library of pre-recorded videos set aside for future use.
