Temperament Tests or Meet & Greets are helpful for boarding and daycare facilities to ensure the safety and comfort of all pets. These assessments help staff understand each pet's personality, behavior around other animals, and response to new environments. By identifying potential triggers or stressors, facilities can create personalized care plans and reduce the risk of conflicts, ensuring a positive experience for everyone.

Goose offers two different options for temperament tests/Meet & Greets:

  1. In Flow Booking which allows any new pet parent to book a Meet & Greet in addition to reserving their next boarding or daycare reservation.

    1. With this option, you can set a lead time for how many days before a reservation the Meet & Greet should occur, giving you and the pet owner time to decide if your facility suits their pet.

  2. Stand Alone Booking will prevent any new pets from booking a reservation prompting the pet owner to call your facility.

Booking a Stand Alone Meet & Greet

Regardless of which type of temperament test works best with your facility, you will always have the ability to book a stand alone Meet & Greet.

  3. Enter the pet information

    1. If it is a returning customer that has a new pet, search that customer and select their profile.

      1. Click Add Pet and enter the pet information

    2. If it is a net new customer select "Make a New Customer Reservation"

      1. Enter the pet information

  4. Open the Meet & Greet Date drawer and select a date and time for the reservation

  5. Update any of the Pet Owner information

  6. Click Continue and Collect payment or select "collect payment in person" to allow that customer to pay at the facility

Updating a Temperament Test Status

Once a pet comes in to the facility you will be able to update the temperament test status in that pet profile.

There are two status active statuses you can switch it to once the pet has finished the Meet & Greet:

  1. Passed - They will be able to book reservations online without having to book a Meet & Greet

  2. Failed - They will not be able to book reservations online

To update the status:

  1. Open the invoice

  2. Click on the pet name to open the drawer

  3. Scroll to the bottom

  4. Update the Meet & Greet status

  5. Click Save
