Navigating Conversation Features

When communicating with candidates, there are a few things that may help make your process a little easier like adding snippets, using templates, and scheduling your message to send at a later time.

Snippets

Snippets dynamically populate information, both for candidates and for message senders. They're especially helpful when trying to avoid spelling errors. From the 1:1 conversation view, you have access to the following snippets:

Profile Snippets

  • First name – {{ profile.first_name }}

  • Last name – {{ profile.last_name }}

Sender Snippets

  • Sender name – {{ sender.name }}

  • Sender first name – {{ sender.first_name }}

  • Sender last name – {{ sender.last_name }}

Saved Links

  • Any links you've saved for quickly crafting your messages which will look something like this – {{ saved_links.40abb0 }}

For more information, check out How to use Snippets.

Templates

A template is any message you want to pre-emptively compose or something you send often, saving yourself some time. You can create templates introducing yourself and keep them private or you can share these templates across your team to create some consistency in your messaging.

For more on Templates, check out Shareable Templates.

Scheduling

A bad scheduling experience slows down hiring and hurts your candidate conversion rates. Grayscales’ self-scheduling makes it easy for candidates to book time with you and your hiring managers so you can provide a better hiring experience, speed up hiring, and improve candidate conversions.

Change Schedule

Change schedule allows you to schedule-send messages when you think the candidate would be more responsive to it. You can edit or cancel the message all the way up to it's scheduled-send time.

Nudges

A nudge is an automated follow up that is sent if a candidate doesn’t respond. You can apply up to 3 different nudges and choose the wait time. There are three ways to cancel nudges:

  1. By responding to the message thread directly

  2. Clicking CANCEL on the pending nudge

  3. If the candidate responds to the initial message before the nudge is scheduled to send, any pending nudges will be canceled.
