A Logic Variable is a calculated Custom Variable formula which applies simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) equations at the MCF & Battery Equipment, Water Meter, Well and Gas Meter level. ๐Ÿงฎ

Said differently, when solving for the value of C:

  • C is the calculated Logic Variable, and

  • A and B are Custom Variable inputs

C = A + B

To create a Logic Variable formula, first create the Custom Variables for each data point you want to use in the calculation (i.e. A and B and C).
โ€‹
These Custom Variables will serve as the inputs for your formula. For a refresher on creating Custom Variables, jump over to this article:

Now, let's practice!๐ŸŒ๏ธ
โ€‹
Say we've got a buy back meter, from which we're buying gas from the pipeline to run some equipment we have on site. In this particular case, to provide a true measurement (ie 'Net Production') of the lease productivity we need to be able to calculate between Buy Gas and Sales Gas.
โ€‹

Net Production = Sales Gas - Buy Gas

First step, create the Custom Variables at the Battery from the Settings page for Sales Gas, Buy Gas, and Net Production.

Pro-tip: Don't forget to create a Custom Variable field to house the calculation in, otherwise all you'll have is input fields.

Next, click add Logic Variable to design the formula which will provide a calculated value for Net Production AND assign the level you want to apply the formula.

And that's it! โœ”
โ€‹
Now all you need are hard numbers entered for Buy Gas and Sales Gas at the MCF & Battery Equipment level, and your Logic Variable of Net Production will automatically calculate! ๐ŸŽฉ๐Ÿ‡

In summary, Logic Variables can be created and customized to fit your operations, saving both you and your pumper time by doing the simple math for you.
โ€‹
Now you can work smarter, not harder. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป

Next up: with production assets and field crews spread across different fields, Counties, and even States, it's an enormous challenge to not only understand exactly what's going on in the field but to also receive this information in a timely manner.
โ€‹
That said, what if you had a machine that could not only monitor assets for production declines and critical issues but would also uncover human oversights in the field, too. ๐Ÿค–
โ€‹
Well, you might just stand to make a helluva lot more money.๐Ÿ’ฐ
