Add a Live Seal to your website
The Live Seal is an embeddable version of your Green Business Benchmark° certification. Once installed on your website, it automatically displays your organization’s current certification level, so you don’t need to manually replace badge images as your certification changes.
Before you begin,
To complete this task, you’ll need:
A Standard, Premium, or Enterprise-level plan
An organization that has achieved a certification level
Permission to access Certification
The ability to edit your organization's website
Note: Different groups within an organization can have different certification levels. Make sure you're using the Live Seal for the correct group.
Why use a Live Seal?
Unlike a downloadable image, a Live Seal automatically reflects your organization's current certification status.
Benefits include:
Automatically updates when your certification changes
Eliminates the need to manually replace certification badge images
Requires only a one-time installation
Ensures visitors always see your current certification level
Certification levels displayed by the GBB° Live Seal
Your Live Seal displays your organization’s current certification level, including:
Bronze
Silver
Gold
Platinum
Note: Committed is a pre-certification status and does not have a certification seal.
How to add the Live Seal
Log in to Green Business Benchmark°.
Go to Certification.
Scroll past Certification Status and Certificate of Achievement to the Certification Seal section.
Select Live Seal.
Choose your preferred:
Theme — the color style of your seal.
Light theme for dark backgrounds
Dark theme for light backgrounds
This keeps your seal visible and easy to read on your site.
Size — how big the seal appears on your page.
Small, Medium, or Large, depending on where you're placing it (e.g., footer vs. main page)
Copy the embed code.
Paste the embed code into the HTML of the web page where you want the certification seal to appear.
Publish your website. Once your changes are live, navigate to the page where you added the Live Seal.
Confirm your Live Seal is working
The Live Seal is visible on your webpage.
It displays your current Green Business Benchmark° certification level.
The theme and size appear as expected.
As you advance your sustainability efforts, future certification updates will appear automatically.
Keep in mind that the seal also links back to your organization’s public GBB° profile, where visitors can view your progress, completed initiatives, and recorded commitments.
