Installation: Sensor Connection Blinks

Understanding Sensor connection status via light patterns

Activating the cellular connection of your Spiio sensor is a crucial step in ensuring it can transmit data effectively. Follow this detailed guide for a smooth activation process:

Initial Activation:

Remove the green magnet from the sensor. This wakes the sensor and begins the process of connecting to the cellular network.

Understanding the Indicator Lights:

Watch the LED light on the end of the sensor to monitor its connection status.

  • White Blinking Light: A blinking white light means the sensor is attempting to establish a cellular connection. This is normal while the connection process is underway.

  • Green Blinking Light: Indicates a successful connection to the cellular network. Wait for the light to stop blinking green before proceeding.

  • Red or Magenta Blinking Light: Signifies an unsuccessful connection attempt.

After a Successful Connection:

Once the sensor has successfully connected:

  • Do not replace the green magnet.

  • Store the magnet in a safe place in case you need to reconnect the sensor or remove it in the future.

  • A properly installed sensor should not have the magnet attached.

If Connection Fails:

Further Steps: In case the green light is not achieved after several attempts:

  • Consider using an alternative sensor.

  • Try relocating the sensor to a nearby site with potentially better cellular reception.

  • Reach out to support for further assistance.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues:

Reattempt Connection: If you encounter a red or magenta blinking light, follow these steps:

  • Replace the magnet on the sensor.

  • Wait at least 30 seconds.

  • Remove the magnet again to retry connecting to the network.

Important Note:

Magnet Placement: Ensure the green magnet is replaced correctly on the sensor. Incorrect placement may result in a red or magenta blinking light, indicating an issue with the sensor's status.

By following these steps carefully, you can effectively activate your Spiio sensor's cellular connection, ensuring it is ready to monitor and transmit soil condition data reliably.
