Ensuring optimal sensor placement is essential for accurate data collection and reliable network connectivity.
Use the Test Location Quality feature to ensure the sensor is positioned in an optimal spot for accurate data collection.
Tap the plus (+) icon again and select Test Location Quality to begin the test.
Step-by-Step Instructions for Testing Sensor Location Quality
Step 1: Bring the soil sensor to the desired location for testing.
Once you are at the target location, open the GreenCast Connect app and tap Continue to start the process.
Step 2: Scan the Spiio QR code.
You can scan the QR code directly from the sensor
Import the QR code from your gallery
Manually input the Sensor ID by tapping the keyboard icon at the top-right corner.
NOTE: An already assigned sensor cannot be scanned. Ensure the sensor is unassigned before attempting to scan it.
Step 3: Place the Spiio sensor at ground level and remove the green strip.
After removing the green strip, the sensor should start blinking white.
Tap Confirm Strip Removed in the app.
Step 4: Wait for the green light to confirm connection.
Observe the white blinking light as the sensor searches for the network.
This process may take up to 3 minutes.
Once the sensor successfully connects, it will blink green, and the app will display a message saying You Have Received a Signal.
Step 5: Evaluate location quality.
The location quality may vary depending on environmental factors and network strength.
For a more accurate understanding of the signal strength, it is recommended to repeat the test at different locations and times.
Step 6: Complete or repeat the test.
If you are satisfied with the results, tap Finish Test to complete the process.
To test another location, tap Repeat Test and follow the steps again.
Important Notes
Consistently good location quality ensures reliable data transmission from the sensor.
Testing at various times of the day can help identify potential fluctuations in network strength.
Make sure to handle the sensor carefully during the process to avoid any potential damage.
