This guide explains the difference between courses and playlists and walks through two ways to assign training in Greenius. You can start from the Training page to choose content first and then select employees, or start from the Employees page to choose employees first and then select content. Both workflows assign the same training, so you can use whichever approach best fits the task.
Courses vs Playlists
Greenius has two types of training you can assign.
Course | Playlist |
A course is a single training topic. It usually includes:
Examples: Engine & Fuel Basics, Blower Safety, Personal safety. 💡 Think of a course like one album or one video series on a topic. | A playlist is a collection of courses grouped for a purpose. Playlists can include Greenius-built content, your company’s custom content, or a mix. Examples: New Hire Essentials, Mowing Crew Safety, Seasonal Refresher. 💡Think of a playlist like a music playlist: one tap assigns a whole set of courses in the order your team should take them. 💡 Best for: Onboarding new hires, standard paths for a role or division, or giving someone everything they need for the season. |

Language
You do not pick English or Spanish when assigning
Greenius delivers courses in English or Spanish based on each person’s language preference on their profile (set when you add them, editable later).
When you assign a course or playlist, you assign one item. Greenius automatically gives each person the right language version. You do not need to assign separate English and Spanish copies.
Assign screens include a note such as: Training will be assigned in the user’s preferred language.
Before Starting
You need:
A Greenius admin account
At least one Crew or Admin employee already added (see the Add Employee article)
Training content available in your catalog (Greenius playlists and courses, plus any custom content your org created)
Path A: Assign from the Training Page
Use this when you are browsing the catalog and know what you want to assign, then need to pick who gets it.
Examples: “Assign New Hire Essentials to the three people I added yesterday” or “Assign the PPE course to the whole crew.”
Sign in to Greenius and click Training
The Playlists tab is shown by default. Toggle to Courses if you want to assign a single course.
💡Filter the Training Library by course Tags and Content type. That makes it easier to find every course on a topic (for example, hardscapes), or to view only custom content.
💡Use the Search box to search by name, or scroll the list.
Each row shows useful details such as duration and number of courses (playlists) or lessons (courses).
Assign to employees, choose an option:
Option A — assign one item
Option B — assign multiple items at once
Selected employees will see the new course or playlist in the Granum Training mobile app (Crew) or their training list (Admin, if applicable).
What happens for Crew who have not signed in yet?
If you assign training to a Crew member who has never logged in, Greenius may send them a reminder text (in addition to their original invite text).
⚠️ Texts are limited to one per person per 24 hours, even if you assign multiple items at once.
Path B: Assign from the Employees Page
Use this when you are looking at people first and want to add, remove, or review all of their training in one place.
Examples: “Carlos needs onboarding playlists” or “Remove a course from Priya and add a seasonal refresher.”
From their Employees Details Page
Click Employees in the sidebar
Click the employee’s row
Click + Add Training in the top right corner
Select desired Course(s) or Playlist(s) using the row checkboxes
Add Training window notes and actions:Assign a playlist - All courses in that playlist are assigned together.
Course is part of an assigned playlist - That course appears locked (checked, not editable). Remove the playlist first if you need to unassign the course individually.
Remove training that is In Progress - Greenius shows a warning that progress will be lost if you continue.
Cancel - No changes are saved. If you started from the progress panel, you return to Training Progress.
Click Add X Course(s) in the bottom right corner when finished
The window closes and you should see the updated Employee Details page with the newly assigned training.
✅ Assignments update immediately for the selected employees.
✅ Crew members will receive a text message (if they have not logged in yet), or a push notification (if they have enabled) that a new course has been assigned to them.
✅ Crew members will see new items in the mobile app.
What Happens Next
For Crew (mobile app) ↓ | For Admin ↓ |
| Admins cannot receive training (its a bug we’re fixing now). I would say that admins can monitor progress from the Employees page.

Troubleshooting
Employee not in the assign list
Try: Confirm they were added on the Employees page and are not archived or removed.
Cannot uncheck a course
Try: It may be part of an assigned playlist. Uncheck or remove the playlist instead.
Warning about in-progress training
Try: Expected when removing active training. Continuing deletes their progress on that item.
Crew did not get a text
Try: Reminder texts only go to Crew who have never logged in, and at most once per 24 hours. They may already have the assignment in the app if they are active.
Wrong language content
Try: Update the person’s language preference on their profile. Crew can also change language in the mobile app.
Playlist or course not in the list
Try: Use search. Confirm the content is published and available to your organization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I assign a playlist or individual courses?
For new hires and standard onboarding, start with a playlist. Use individual courses for targeted refreshers or one-off needs.
Can I assign the same playlist to multiple people at once?
Yes. Use Assign on the Training page and select multiple employees, or select multiple employees on the Employees page and use Manage Training.
Do I assign English and Spanish separately?
No. Assign once. Each person gets the language that matches their profile preference.
Can I set a due date when assigning?
Not in the current Greenius 2 assign flow. Assignments go out without an admin-set due date.
What is the difference between Training Progress and Manage Training?
Training Progress is read-only: see status (overdue, in progress, not started).
Manage Training is where you add or remove assignments.
Can I assign training before someone accepts their invite?
Yes. Assign anytime. Crew who have not logged in may receive a reminder text when training is assigned.
