You can now use this new feature that allows you to customize your emissions data and gain deeper insights. This new feature is optional.

1. Why it could be beneficial for your analysis?

Every organization tracks its emissions differently. Whether you report by department, project, or client, analytical tags give you the flexibility to define your own structure, so your dashboards and reports truly reflect the way your organization works.
Once your tags are set up, they’re automatically applied across your entire data collection and reporting process. Right from the start, your emissions data is sorted, filtered, and visualized in a way that aligns with what matters most to you.

2. How to set it up

To set up your analytics tags:

1/ Go to the tasks view "progress" > click on the task "Customize your emissions breakdown with analytics tags"

2/ After clicking on the task, follow the step-by-step guide to define your tags — whether they’re based on projects, departments, business units, or anything that reflects how your organization is structured.

After choosing the tags names, you can set optional authorized "values", that you can assign to each analytics tag. These are essentially the list of possible options for categorizing your data. For example:

Tag "Department" → Possible values: "Marketing", "HR", "Finance", "Production"

Tag "Project" → Possible values: "Project A", "Project B", "Project C"

3/ Once you've created the analytics tags, your data collection will be customized, allowing you to tag all your data.
Our import templates are fully designed to support analytical tags seamlessly, with no extra work on your end. Whether you’re importing data related to buildings, employees, travel, or financial activities, your tags are smoothly integrated.

If you don't want to create analytics tags, you can skip the task.

3. Get clear, insightful analytics

Once your data is imported, your dashboards will come to life with new breakdowns by tag, accessible under My Emissions > Carbon Measurement > Analytical Tags Breakdown.
Your report will also include clean, customized visualizations based on your tags.
