Getting Started with the Groovio Student App
Who Can Use the Groovio Mobile App?
The Groovio mobile app is designed specifically for students to manage their class bookings, view schedules, and handle memberships. However, it has certain limitations for staff, instructors, and studio administrators. Below is a detailed explanation of its purpose and role-based access restrictions.
Overview
The Groovio Student App is designed to give students full control over their studio experience—booking classes, managing memberships, and staying in the loop with announcements and schedules, all in one place.
Role-Based Access Limitations
Staff and Instructors: The Groovio mobile app does not support staff or instructor logins. These roles require access to features such as attendance management, class rosters, and communication tools, which are not available in the mobile app.
Studio Administrators: Similarly, studio admins cannot log into the mobile app. They must use the web platform to perform their administrative tasks.
Core Features
Book and Manage Classes
Browse and book drop-ins or multi-week courses.
View key class info like instructor, time, room, and capacity.
Cancel or reschedule (if permitted).
New: ‘Booked’ and ‘Waitlisted’ labels now appear directly on the schedule for easy reference.
New: Course classes now display vertically, helping students easily locate the cancel button for make-up sessions.
Explore by Category
New: Categories now appear on the student profile and above the schedule.
Studios can define categories like Pole, Aerial, Dance, etc., under Manage Studio > Categories.
Students can click a category to filter classes they’re interested in—great for showcasing trials or specific class types.
Improved Calendar Navigation
The schedule calendar now stays expanded when scrolling up—no need to manually expand it again.
New: Students can now manually sync classes to their device calendar if they previously skipped calendar sync.
Faster Booking Flow
New: The middle booking page has been removed. Students now go directly to the checkout page when selecting a class.
Important class notes will still appear after tapping PAY NOW if applicable.
Memberships and Packages
Track current credits, usage, and upcoming payments.
See full transaction history.
Purchase new memberships or packages directly through the app.
Some classes may be restricted to membership or package holders only—these will be marked accordingly.
Profile & Notifications
Tap your profile photo (top left) to update settings, view upcoming bookings, and manage notifications.
New: Students can now individually toggle email notifications by type (e.g., booking confirmations, cancellations, etc.).
Announcements & Class Attendance
New Home Page Design: Students can now see:
Total number of classes they've attended.
Current studio announcements.
Make sure your studio has an announcement set under Account > Studio Profile to take advantage of this feature.
Connecting with a Studio
New: When a student visits a studio profile for the first time, the app will prompt them to connect if they haven’t done so already—ensuring they don’t miss the button.
Need Help?
If you encounter issues or aren’t sure why a class isn’t bookable (e.g., private or tag-restricted), contact your studio or check your membership details under your profile.
Using the Web Platform for Staff and Instructors
Staff, instructors, and studio administrators must use the Groovio web platform to access their accounts and perform their roles. The web platform provides all the necessary tools for managing classes, rosters, and communications. This platform can be accessed via a web browser on any device, including mobile phones.
Account Management for Users with Multiple Roles
If a staff member or instructor wishes to use the Groovio mobile app as a student, they must create a separate student account. Each account must have a unique email address, as the system requires distinct credentials for different roles.
