Inviting Users

Inviting users, creating user accounts, user roles, password reset, login credentials

Written by Mia Alter

Before your team can start using GSMtasks, each user needs their own account. User accounts are created by an Administrator from the Settings area of the Dashboard.

Once a user has been created, simply share their login credentials with them so they can sign in to the GSMtasks Dashboard or Driver App.

Creating a New User

To create a new user:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Navigate to the Users section.

  3. Click + New User.

  4. Enter the user's details, including:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Email Address

    • Password

    • User Role

  5. Click Save.

The new user account is now ready to use.

💡 Tip: The email address does not need to be an existing or verified email account. It simply acts as the user's login username.

Sharing Login Credentials

After creating the user, provide them with:

  • Email Address

  • Password

  • Your GSMtasks login page or app download link (if required)

The user can then log in using the credentials you've provided.

Choosing a User Role

When creating a user, you'll need to assign them the appropriate role.

Different roles provide different levels of access within GSMtasks.

For example, Administrators can manage users and account settings, while Workers have access only to the tools they need to complete their daily tasks.

Forgot Your Password?

If you're unable to log in because you've forgotten your password, there are two ways to regain access to your account.

Option 1: Reset your password

If your user account was created using a valid email address, you can reset your password yourself.

To do this:

  1. Open the GSMtasks login page.

  2. Click Forgot Password?

  3. Enter your email address.

  4. Follow the instructions in the password reset email to create a new password.

Once your password has been reset, you can log in using your new credentials.

Option 2: Contact your Administrator or GSMtasks Support

If your account was created using a non-existent email address, or if you're unable to receive the password reset email, your password will need to be reset manually.

In this case, please contact your Administrator who will have to reach out to GSMtasks Support.

Our Support team can manually set a new password for your account from the back end. Once the password has been updated, they'll provide you with the new login credentials so you can sign in again.

💡 Tip: If your organization uses placeholder or non-existent email addresses for user accounts, we recommend keeping login credentials in a secure location, as the Forgot Password? option will not be available.

Best Practices

✔ Create a separate account for each user.

✔ Assign the correct role based on the user's responsibilities.

✔ Use recognizable names and email addresses to make user management easier.

✔ Share login credentials securely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the email address need to exist?

No. The email address is used as the username for logging in and does not need to be a real or verified email address.

Can multiple people share one account?

We recommend creating an individual account for each user. This provides better accountability and allows activity to be tracked accurately.

Can I change a user's role later?

Yes. Administrators can edit user accounts and update roles at any time.
