Need to move your Habitify habits, streaks, and history to a new account? Perhaps you created an account with the wrong email or want to consolidate your progress. The good news is, you can do this using our Full Backup Export and Import feature.
This guide will walk you through the process step-by-step.
The Method: Exporting from Old, Importing to New
The process involves two main steps:
Exporting a complete backup file (
.sqlite) from your current account (the source).Importing that backup file into your new account (the destination).
Step 1: Export a Full Backup from Your Source Account
Open Habitify, and log into your OLD account (the one with the data you want to move).
Go to Settings
Look for the "Import / Export Data" option.
Choose the "Export as Backup"
Save this
.sqlitefile somewhere you can easily access it (like your Files app, cloud storage, or email it to yourself).
Step 2: Import the Backup File
On the device logged into your NEW account, go to Settings > Import / Export Data.
Choose Import from Backup
Select the
.sqlitebackup file you saved in Step 1.Follow the prompts to confirm the import. The app will process the file and load all the data from your old account.
Important Note: How Existing Data is Handled
Habits are ADDED
The import process will add the habits from your backup file to any habits that already exist in the new account.
For example, if your new account already has 2 habits, and you import a backup containing 3 different habits, you will end up with 5 habits in total after the import.
Habit ID Conflicts (Overwriting)
Each habit has a unique internal ID (HabitID). If a habit in your backup file has the exact same HabitID as a habit already present in the new account, the imported version will overwrite the existing one.
This situation primarily occurs if you export a backup and then import it back into the same account to restore it, ensuring the latest backup replaces the current state.
When importing between different accounts, HabitID conflicts are rare unless you've manually manipulated backups.
