Have you ever deleted a habit, only to find it stubbornly reappearing on your list in our Web, Windows, or macOS apps?
This is a known caching issue that our team is currently working to resolve. It happens when the app fails to clear old data from its local memory. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration this causes.
In the meantime, you can manually force the app to clear this old data by following the platform-specific steps below.
Before you start
This Will Not Delete Your Account: Following these steps will only remove the local data stored. It will not delete your Habitify account or your habit progress, which are safely stored on our servers.
Ensure You Have a Registered Account: To recover your data after this process, you must have a registered Habitify account (linked to an Email, Apple ID, or Google account). If you are using a Guest account, this process will permanently erase your data.
You Will Be Logged Out: This process may log you out of the app.
For the Web App : Clear Data for the Habitify Site
The fix for the web app is to clear your browser's stored data for our site. This will force it to download a fresh, updated version of your habit list.
This is the best method as it will not affect your login status or data on any other websites.

For the Windows App: Reinstall the Habitify App
For the Windows app, a clean re-installation is the most effective way to clear the cached data.
First, uninstall the Habitify app from your computer.
Then, go to the Microsoft Store and re-install a fresh version of the app.
Log back into your account.
For the macOS App: Delete App Data & Resinstall
Performing a clean reset by deleting the local app data can often solve the problem. This process removes all cached information and settings from your computer, allowing for a completely fresh start.
Please follow these steps carefully to ensure all local data is removed.
Right-click the app icon in your Dock and select "Quit" to complete close the app.
Open Finder > Click on "Go" in the menu bar at the top of your screen > Select "Go to Folder..." from the dropdown menu.
In the "Go to Folder" window that appears, copy and paste the following path exactly as it is written, and then press Enter:
~/Library/Containers/
Locate the folder named "Habitify" > "Data" > "Library" > "Application Support".
Right-click on the "Habitify" folder and select "Move to Trash" (or drag it to the Trash).
(Optional but Recommended). For a completely clean slate, it's a good idea to also delete the application.
You have now successfully cleared all of Habitify's local data from your Mac.
To continue using the app, you may simply go to the Mac App Store, search for Habitify, and install a fresh copy. Once installed, log back in with your registered account, and all your habit data will sync down from the server.
