Why do weekly habits show different numbers in Journal vs the habit details?

Learn why a weekly habit can show “1/1” in Journal while the habit detail shows a multi-week streak, and how to interpret both views.

If you’re tracking a weekly habit, you may notice the numbers in Journal → Successes don’t always match what you see when you open the habit.

What the numbers mean

1) Journal → Successes (example: “1/1”)

This view reflects your weekly goal completion for the current week.

  • “1/1” means you’ve completed your weekly target for that week (e.g., 1 time per week).

  • If your weekly goal is higher (e.g., 3x/week), it may show progress like 1/3, 2/3, etc.

2) Habit details (example: “4-week streak”)

The streak shown inside the habit is your weekly streak — how many weeks in a row you successfully completed the weekly goal.

  • “4-week streak” means you hit your weekly goal in 4 consecutive weeks.

3) The small number under the habit icon in Journal

The small number shown under the habit icon in Journal is also a streak, but it is currently counted on a daily basis. For weekly habits, this can look inconsistent compared to the weekly streak in the habit details.

We’re planning to upgrade this so weekly habits are counted on a weekly basis there as well, matching the Single Progress (habit detail) view more closely.

Why this can look confusing

Because these views measure different things:

  • Journal focuses on this week’s goal progress/completion.

  • Habit details focuses on your week-to-week streak over time.

  • The icon streak in Journal is currently daily-based, which can differ for weekly habits.

If something still looks wrong

If you believe the numbers are incorrect (not just different), please contact us with:

  • Your device and OS version

  • Habitify app version

  • The habit’s weekly goal (e.g., 1x/week, 3x/week)

  • The time range you’re viewing in Journal

  • Screenshots or a short screen recording showing both screens

We’ll be happy to investigate.
