If you are trying to customize your Time of Day settings (e.g., setting "Morning" to start at 5:00 AM) and the app keeps reverting your changes or moving other blocks unexpectedly, don't worry—it is not a bug.
This usually happens because Habitify requires 24-hour coverage. This guide explains the logic and the best order to set up your schedule to avoid frustration.
The 24-Hour Rule
Habitify does not allow "gaps" in your day. Every minute of the 24-hour clock must belong to a block.
If you shorten "Morning," the "Afternoon" block must automatically expand to fill the gap.
If you try to set a time range that leaves a gap (e.g., ending Morning at 10 AM when Afternoon doesn't start until 12 PM), the app will block the change.
The Solution: "Add First, Edit Later"
To fully customize your schedule without errors, we recommend following this specific order.
Step 1: Create All Your Blocks First
Do not worry about the specific hours yet. Just tell the app which sections you want.
Go to Settings > Time of Day.
Tap Add Time of Day to create every section you need (e.g., Morning, Work, Evening, Night).
Ignore the time ranges for now.
Step 2: Adjust the Ranges (The "Slider" Logic)
Now that the blocks exist, you are simply moving the boundary line between them.
Tap on a Time of Day block to edit it.
Adjust the Start or End time.
You will notice the adjacent block automatically adjusts to match your new time.
Tip: Start adjusting from the beginning of your day (e.g., Morning) and work your way down. This pushes the "excess" time to the next block until your schedule is perfect.
Why is my "Night" block at the top?
You might notice that your "Night" or "Sleep" block is pinned to the top of the settings list, even if it happens last in your day.
The Logic: Habitify always sorts the block containing 0:00 (Midnight) first.
If your "Night" block runs from 23:00 to 05:00, it bridges the gap between today and tomorrow.
Because it contains the start of the new day (0:00), it appears at the top of the list. This does not affect how your habits appear in the Journal; they will still flow naturally.
Summary Checklist
✅ Ensure you have created all the blocks you need (Morning, Afternoon, etc.) before changing times.
✅ Remember that moving one block's end time will change the next block's start time.
✅ Don't worry if the block containing 0:00 sits at the top of the list—that is normal!
