How to Use "Shake to Undo" in Habitify

What is Shake to Undo?

Shake to Undo is a physical shortcut that allows you to instantly reverse your most recent mistakes in the app. It is the fastest way to fix a very recent, accidental tap or wrong log entry.

How it works

When you make an immediate mistake—like accidentally tapping the checkmark button—simply give your phone a quick shake.

  • A pop-up will appear on your screen asking if you want to "Undo" your last action.

  • Tap Undo, and your last check-in or log will be instantly reversed.

The Reverse Order of Execution: One of the most powerful aspects of this feature is that it remembers multiple actions and undoes them one by one in the reverse order of execution. It works backward from the very last action you took.

  • For example, if you check off "Habit A" and then immediately check off "Habit B," shaking your phone the first time will only undo the "Habit B" check-in.

  • Giving your phone a second shake will then undo "Habit A".

⚠️ Important Limitations

While Shake to Undo is incredibly fast, it is important to know its boundaries:

  • It is temporary: The "undo" state is only held temporarily.

  • It resets: If you close the Habitify app, navigate to a different screen, or log out of your account, the "undo" option will no longer work for those past actions.

(Note: If you lose the ability to shake because you changed screens, you will simply need to manually delete the mistake from your Log History).

How to Enable or Disable Shake to Undo

Because Shake to Undo relies on your phone's physical motion sensor, it is controlled by your device's system settings rather than inside the Habitify app itself. By default, this feature is turned on for iOS devices (iPhone/iPad).

If you find yourself triggering the undo pop-up by accident while walking or moving your phone, you can easily turn it off.

For iPhone & iPad Users:

  1. Open your device's Settings app.

  2. Scroll down and tap on Accessibility.

  3. Under the "Physical and Motor" section, tap on Touch.

  4. Scroll down to find Shake to Undo.

  5. To Disable: Tap the toggle switch so it turns gray.

  6. To Enable: Tap the toggle switch so it turns green.

(Note: Disabling this setting will turn off Shake to Undo for all apps on your phone, not just Habitify).
