If you are tracking your Stand Hours and have noticed that the total in Habitify doesn't match the total in your Apple Health app, don't worry—your sync isn't broken!
Here is a quick breakdown of why these numbers look different and what is happening behind the scenes.
The Root Cause: "Stand" vs. "Idle" Data
When your Apple Watch tracks your activity throughout the day, it doesn't just record the hours you stood up. It actually records two different types of data points in your data history:
Stand: Hours where you successfully stood and moved around for at least one minute.
Idle: Hours where you were wearing your watch but remained sitting or inactive.
Both of these data points are saved into your Apple Health database under the "Stand Hours" category. The difference in your totals comes from how Apple Health and Habitify choose to read that database.
How Apple Health Counts It
When you look at your Activity Rings or the Apple Health dashboard, Apple applies a filter. It only counts and displays the "Stand" data points. It hides the "Idle" hours from your total score because you didn't meet the movement goal for that specific hour.
How Habitify Counts It
Currently, when Habitify syncs with your Apple Health database, it pulls the total volume of records for that category. This means Habitify is counting both your "Stand" data and your "Idle" data.
Because Habitify is reading the total number of recorded hours (regardless of whether you were active or inactive during them), your Stand Hours in Habitify will often display a higher number than what you see on your Apple fitness rings.
Your data is syncing successfully! There is no need to manually log extra hours or troubleshoot your Apple Health connection. The discrepancy is purely a difference in calculation methods between the two apps.
Knowing this, you can confidently continue tracking your habits. If you need to see your exact active "Stand" ring progress, your Apple Health app will be your source of truth, while Habitify reflects the total hours your device actively monitored you.
