Our Business and Enterprise customers have the ability to add their own default method statement sections to their core content, as well as edit any existing sections.

In line with the core HANDS HQ workflow, these method statement sections are paired with a Category in your Risk Assessment Library.

This ensures that when you select a Category whilst creating a new Project, any method statement sections you have linked to that Category will appear in the Method Statement Page.

To add your own method statement section, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the Category you want the section to be linked to

  2. Add and title the new section

  3. Fill in any default content/ images you want to automatically appear in that section when making a Project.

You are also able to rearrange the default order that the method statement sections appear for your Projects. Please find our a guide on how to change the master order.

Select the Category you want the section to be linked to

  • Go to your Risk Assessment Library, under 'Content' (or 'Risk Register' for our Risk Register customers)

  • Consider which Category would be best to link the method statement section with.

  • Here are some tips:

  • Your section will only appear in the Method Statement Page when the linked-Category is ticked in your Project's Risk Assessment Page

  • If you want a method statement section to appear in every project, it is best to put it into the 'General' Category (if you do not have a 'General' category consider adding it to your most used Category or consult your account manager for advice).

  • When you are happy with which Category you are adding the section to, click on the 'Edit category' button for that Category

Add and title the new section

  • Click on the 'Method Statement' tab

  • Click on 'Add new section'

  • Type in the title of the section - as you want it to appear on the final document

  • Advanced tips

  • Give the section a title which is not already in use in another Category in your Library

  • Giving a method statement section an identical title to a section in another Category will lead to the default text in these sections combining in the Method Statement Page

Add the default content

  • At this point, you can choose to add default text to your new method statement section.

  • This text will automatically appear within the method statement section when you come to the Method Statement Page when creating a new project.

  • You can add formatting to the text, such as bold, bullet point lists and you can edit the text colour to red or green

  • You may also want to add default images to the method statement section. For guidance on how to do this, please see our guide.
