Header

Controls the global navigation of a project and bundles the logo, title, and central navigation and system functions.

Updated yesterday

The Header is located in the editor under the System Top section of a project and is a global component. It is displayed on all pages and defines the central navigation as well as project-wide functions.

The Header must be published separately via the three-dot menu. Publishing the page is not sufficient.

Only one Header per project is recommended. Multiple Headers would appear stacked on every page.

Header Components

Logo

The project logo can be selected from the Media Archive and cropped if necessary. The display size is adjusted visually using a slider. Using the Mobile Override toggle, the logo size can be adjusted separately for mobile devices.

Optionally, a more compact logo can be provided for smaller screens.

Titel

A title can be added to the Header, for example to indicate the project function or website name.

A toggle controls whether the title is displayed. A Mobile Override allows an adapted presentation on smaller screens. Functionally, the title behaves like the logo and links to the homepage.

Navigation Type

Under Type, you define how the central navigation within the Header is structured.

Available options:

  • Empty

  • Search Overlay Page

  • Mega Menu

The detailed configuration of Search Overlay Page and Mega Menu is explained in separate articles.

The Mega Menu provides a simple navigation structure. Navigation appears directly in the top bar and consists of a limited number of main links on the first hierarchy level. The Mega Menu is suitable for projects with a clear, flat page structure.

The Search Overlay Page is not permanently visible in the Header. It opens only when a user clicks into the search field or starts typing.

The Overlay Page is a predefined system page that can be individually configured and linked. Within this page, a multi-level navigation structure can be created.

Since the Overlay Page is triggered via the search field, it is recommended to label the search title accordingly, for example as “Menu” if it primarily serves as a navigation interface.

Additional Functions

Further functions can be activated via toggles:

  • My Navigation
User-specific navigation for logged-in users. Allows saving and quickly accessing pages.

  • Serviceinfo
    Activates an additional information area.

  • News Center
Relevant for logged-in users. The option News Center always open ensures it automatically opens on first login.

  • Language Selection in the User Menu
Allows switching the system and interface language.

Important Note on Language Settings

The language selection does not change the language of the page content. It only affects system and interface elements.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use Search Overlay Page for complex page structures

  • Always review the mobile layout in Device Preview

  • Publish the Header separately after making changes
