Tag Manager and Tag Cloud

Centrally manage all tags used in the system, create new keywords, control their usage for internal search, and define which tags appear in the Tag Cloud.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Tag Manager displays all tags (keywords) used across your pages.
Tags are relevant for internal search, as they influence which pages appear for specific search terms.

You can access the Tag Manager via the burger menu.

Functions

Overview of All Tags

In the overview, you can see:

  • Tag name

  • Number of times the tag is used on pages

  • Date the tag was created

The table is sorted by tag name by default.

Adjust Sorting

  • Click on a column header to change the sorting.

  • You can sort by name, usage frequency, or creation date.

Search for Tags

Use the search function to find specific tags.

Create New Tags

  • Click the plus icon.

  • Create a new tag.

  • The tag will then be available in the Meta tab of your pages.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use consistent naming conventions for tags.

  • Avoid duplicate or slightly different variations of the same term.

  • Regularly clean up or consolidate rarely used tags.

  • Use clear terms that users are likely to enter in search.

Tag Cloud

The Tag Cloud is only displayed if your header uses search only and does not include a menu or search overlay.

You can configure the Tag Cloud via the Tag Cloud tab in the burger menu.

Add Tags to the Tag Cloud

  • In the first row, search for one of your existing tags.

  • Click on the tag to add it to the Tag Cloud.

The Tag Cloud is based on existing tags and cannot contain new or independent keywords.

Here you define which tags are shown to users when they click into the search field.

This allows you to:

  • Highlight trends

  • Promote important topics

  • Surface key information directly in search
