How to Uninstall the Hearsay Extractor

Follow these steps to uninstall the Hearsay Extractor from your computer.

This article explains how to uninstall the Hearsay Extractor and remove any saved backups from your device. Choose the instructions that match your computer type: Windows (PC) or Mac.


On a PC

Use the system settings to remove the Hearsay Extractor from your computer.

  1. Open the Start Menu.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Select Apps.

  4. Click Installed apps or Apps & features (depending on your version of Windows).

  5. Find Hearsay Extractor in the list.

  6. Click the three dots (or right-click), then select Uninstall.

    1. By uninstalling the application, the system will also automatically delete any backup data saved from any devices connected.

  7. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the removal.

The Hearsay Extractor has now been uninstalled from your PC.

Note: If you saved your initial extraction to an external hard drive, that external drive will need to be connected to the computer to automatically delete the saved data.


On a Mac

The Mac application does not automatically delete your backup data when you uninstall it. In order to recover that space on your hard drive, you should delete your backup data first.

You can do that in two ways:

  1. You can press this trash can icon you'll see when you open the Extractor.

2. From device settings:

Note: If you saved your initial extraction to an external hard drive, that external drive will need to be connected to the computer while deleting.

Drag the Hearsay Extractor to the Trash to remove it from your Mac.

  1. Open the Finder.

  2. Go to the Applications folder.

  3. Find Hearsay Extractor in the list.

  4. Drag it to the Trash, or right-click and choose Move to Trash.

  5. Open the Trash, then click Empty in the upper-right corner to permanently remove it. Note: This will also permanently delete anything else in your Trash.

The Hearsay Extractor has now been uninstalled from your Mac.
