How to Change Ad Settings to Allow Ads to Run

This article will help you change your settings inorder to allow Meta to run Ads for your Instagram/Facebook account.

Subscribing to use Meta products without ads or choosing to see less-personalized ads impacts your ability to run ads and participate in partnership ads.

If you subscribe or choose to see less-personalized ads, the following are no longer available to your account because they would require using more of your information for ads:

  • Running ads and boosting posts for an Instagram account

  • Running ads and boosting posts for your Facebook profile (for example, boosting your own Marketplace listings)

  • Running ads for a Facebook Page, if the Page is linked to an Instagram account that has a subscription to use Meta Products without ads or an account that has a less-personalized ad experience

  • Participating in partnership ads on Instagram or on your Facebook profile

  • Monetizing with Ads on Reels, In-stream ads, and Content Monetization on your Facebook profile

How Can I change this ?

You can adjust your Ad experience in your Ad settings to manage whether you see personalized or less-personalized ads.

Manage your ad experience:

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right.

  2. Click Settings & privacy, then click Settings.

  3. Click Accounts Center in the left menu.

  4. Click Ad preferences.

  5. Click Ad settings.

  6. Click Ad experience.

  7. From here, you can choose to see personalized or less-personalized ads.

  8. Click Confirm to confirm your choice.
