How granular is your pricing data?

Our price forecasts are updated on a weekly basis and are available up to 12 months out, so you get a regularly updated forward view with clean, weekly changes.

However, historical price series come from a variety of sources (e.g., government agencies) and can vary in cadence. Some update daily, others weekly or monthly, so the past reflects each provider’s native frequency.

In terms of geography and commodity granularity, it again depends on the source. Some price series are very detailed in that they predict a specific variety of Apple (e.g., Gala) in a specific region of the United States (e.g., Michigan).

On the other hand, a different price series might report on the port from which the commodity departed rather than specific regions of production or varieties. For example, Wheat in Australia might be noted as “FOB Adelaide” with no further descriptors. We create price forecasts even when data is challenging or less descriptive, allowing you to compare multiple price series without blending them together. Price predictions are standardized to USD/kg, USD/lb, or USD/MT, and leverage our hyper-granular regional climate context to understand price movement.
