⚠️ As of February 25, 2026, Atlas no longer generates or imports themes. If you already have the Atlas theme installed, your theme is unaffected and everything in this article still applies. There are two ways to add sections in the Atlas Theme, depending on whether you're editing a full page layout (like the homepage) or a section group (like the product information area on a product page).
Method 1: Add a Section to a Page Layout (Homepage, Custom Page, etc.)
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes
Click Customize on the Atlas Theme
Use the top dropdown to select the page you want to edit (e.g., Home page)
In the left sidebar, scroll down and click Add section (in blue)
Browse the list and choose the section you want to add
Click Add
Drag to reposition the section if needed
Click Save
Method 2: Add a Section Block Inside a Section Group (like Product Information)
In the theme editor, use the top dropdown to go to Products > Default Product
In the left sidebar, scroll to the Product Information section
Click Add block
Choose from available content blocks like Text, Star Rating, Upsell, Bundle, etc.
Reorder or delete blocks as needed
Click Save
This method is used when adding features to a specific content group inside a template, such as customizing the layout of your product page.
