Adjust inventory quantities

Here is how to add inventory to your product.

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products > inventory.

  2. If you have multiple locations, then select a location from the drop-down menu.

  3. Optional: Filter or search the list of products.

  4. You can adjust the On hand or Available quantity of a single variant or multiple variants by the same amount.

    • To adjust a single variant, enter the quantity in the On hand or Available column of the variant that you want to adjust.

    • To adjust multiple variants by the same amount, select the variants that you want to edit and click Update quantities.

  5. Click Save.

When you adjust the On hand quantity, your Available quantity is updated by the same amount.

Sometimes you may see "Out of Stock" even though you have inventory.

The most common reason for this is that the shipping settings don’t allow those products to be shipped to certain locations. If your country isn’t included in your store’s shipping list, the products will appear as unavailable or “out of stock” to you—even if there’s inventory. To resolve this, please review your shipping zones and make sure your country is included. Once you add your country to the shipping list, the products should show as available.

So for example if you are in Canada viewing your store but you don't have Canada shipping zones setup, you will see an out of stock inventory.
