How do I configure and troubleshoot payment icons in the Atlas theme?
Atlas lets you control payment icons in two different places, and they’re configured in different menus:
Footer payment icons → configured in the Atlas Theme Editor (theme settings)
Cart payment icons → configured in the Atlas Dashboard → Cart Upsell menu (not in the theme editor)
Below are the correct setup steps and troubleshooting tips for both.
1) Configure footer payment icons (Theme Editor)
Use this when you want payment icons to show in the footer.
In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes
Find Atlas, click Customize
In the theme editor, open the Theme settings (usually the gear icon)
Locate Payment Icons (or similarly named setting)
Enter the payment icon names you want to display
Separate multiple icon names with commas
Save your changes
Important: These theme settings apply to the footer icons only.
2) Configure cart payment icons (Atlas Dashboard → Cart Upsell)
Use this when you want payment icons to show in the cart / cart drawer.
Open your Atlas main dashboard in Shopify (Apps → Atlas)
Go to Cart Upsell
Find the section for Cart payment icons (or payment/trust icons)
Add / select the payment methods you want displayed in the cart
Save / Publish (depending on what the dashboard requires)
Important: Cart payment icons do not come from the Theme Editor settings.
Troubleshooting payment icons not showing
If you added icons but don’t see them on the live storefront:
Confirm you edited the right place
Footer icons missing → check Theme Editor
Cart icons missing → check Atlas Dashboard → Cart Upsell
Check cache
Open the store in an incognito/private window
If it works there, clear your normal browser cache and refresh
Verify the feature is enabled
In Cart Upsell, confirm the cart icons section is actually toggled on and saved/published
