What is Variant Image Generation?

Unlike Product Image Generation which generates one image at a time, Variant Image Generation creates 4 image variations in a single generation. These variations give you options to choose from while maintaining a consistent style.

How It Works

Variant Image Generation uses a style reference image to guide the look and feel of all generated variations. This ensures visual consistency across the 4 images while still providing variety.

How to Generate Variant Images

Step 1: Select Your Product

Click Browse products to select the product you want to generate images for.

Once selected, you'll see:

  • The product name and handle

  • A thumbnail of the product

  • Reference images — Choose up to 4 images of your product to maintain consistency

Step 2: Select Product Category

Choose from the dropdown:

  • Clothing, fashion & wearables

  • Beauty & personal care

  • Home & kitchen

  • Fitness & outdoors

  • Electronics

  • Jewelry & accessories

Step 3: Choose Generation Mode

If using Product + Model, you'll need to select a saved model from your library.

Step 4: Select Gender

Choose the target gender:

  • Male

  • Female

  • Unisex

Step 5: Select Style Reference Image

This is the key feature of Variant Image Generation.

Click Add image to select a saved image that will serve as the style and pose reference for all generated variations.

The style reference determines:

  • Overall visual style

  • Pose and positioning

  • Lighting mood

  • Compositional approach

Tip: Choose a style reference that matches the look you want for your product photos. All 4 variations will follow this reference.

Step 6: Add Context (Optional)

In the Context for product images field, add any additional details.

Tip: Click View prompt catalog to browse pre-made prompts you can use or adapt.

This field has a 2,500 character limit.

Step 7: Generate Prompt

Click Generate prompt to create the AI prompt. Review it in the "Your recommended prompt" section.

You can preview different variations using the Preview variation dropdown (e.g., "Variation 1 (user)").

Step 8: Generate Images

Click Generate Images to create your 4 image variations. Generation takes approximately 5-10 seconds per image.

All 4 variations appear in the right panel under "Generated product images."

Step 9: Save Your Images

Review all 4 variations and:

  • Click the checkbox on images you want to keep

  • Click Save Selected Images to save only your selections

  • Click Save All Images to save all 4 variations

Saved images appear in the Saved Images tab.

Prompt Catalog

Variant Image Generation includes a View prompt catalog button. This opens a library of pre-made prompts that you can:

  • Use directly as-is

  • Copy and modify

  • Use as inspiration for your own prompts

This is helpful if you're not sure what context to provide.
