Adding a countdown timer to your bundle

Learn how to add a countdown timer to your bundle to create urgency and encourage customers to act quickly.

A countdown timer adds a visible time limit to your bundle offer, creating urgency that motivates customers to buy before the deal expires. The timer appears as a bar above or below your bundle widget with a live countdown and custom message.

To configure the countdown timer, click Countdown timer in the left sidebar under Customize in the bundle editor.

In this article:

Enabling the countdown timer

Check the Enable countdown timer checkbox to activate the timer. Once enabled, all the configuration options appear below.

When the timer is disabled, no countdown bar is shown to customers and the bundle behaves as a standard, ongoing offer with no time pressure.

Choosing a duration mode

The duration mode determines how the timer counts down and what happens when it reaches zero. There are three options:

Fixed duration

The timer runs for a set number of minutes, then resets and starts again. Every visitor sees a fresh countdown starting from the full duration when they load the page.

Duration (minutes): Enter the number of minutes for the countdown. The default is 15 minutes.

This is the most common option. It creates a sense of urgency for each visitor without requiring you to manage specific end dates.

Ends at midnight (user's local time)

The timer counts down to midnight based on the customer's local time zone, then resets the next day. Every visitor sees the same countdown relative to their own midnight.

This works well for daily deals or "today only" promotions where you want the offer to feel time-sensitive but refresh automatically each day.

Custom end date

The timer counts down to a specific date and time that you set. When the countdown reaches zero, it resets.

End date: Select a date using the date picker (dd/mm/yyyy format). End time: Set the exact time the timer expires (12-hour format with a.m./p.m.).

Use this for real deadlines like holiday sales, product launches, or limited-time promotions with a fixed end point.

💡 Fixed duration is the safest starting point. It keeps urgency consistent for every visitor without needing to update dates. Use Custom end date only when you have a genuine deadline, as customers can lose trust if they notice "limited time" offers that never actually end.

Customizing the timer message

Title: The text that appears on the countdown timer bar. The default is "Hurry! Offer expires in {{timer}}" and you can customize it up to 100 characters.

Use the {{timer}} placeholder anywhere in the title text to insert the live countdown. When the page loads, {{timer}} is replaced with the actual time remaining (e.g., "14:32"). You can place it anywhere in your message:

  • "Hurry! Offer expires in {{timer}}"

  • "{{timer}} left to save!"

  • "Deal ends in {{timer}}, don't miss out"

⚠️ Make sure to include {{timer}} somewhere in your title text. Without it, customers will see the timer bar but no actual countdown, which defeats the purpose.

Positioning and styling the timer

These settings control where the timer bar appears and how it looks:

Alignment: Controls the text alignment within the timer bar. Options are Left, Center, or Right. Center is the default and works best for most layouts.

Position: Controls where the timer bar appears relative to the bundle widget. Options are Top (above the bundle offers) or Bottom (below the bundle offers). Top is the default and ensures customers see the urgency before they start browsing offers.

Bar height: Adjusts the height of the timer bar in pixels using a slider. The default is 40px.

Font size: Adjusts the text size within the timer bar using a slider. The default is 13px.

Border radius: Controls corner rounding of the timer bar using a slider. The default is 6px. Set to 0 for sharp corners or increase for a softer, pill-shaped bar.

Font weight: Toggle between Normal and Bold.

Style: Check the Italic checkbox to italicize the timer text.

ℹ️ the timer bar's background and text colors are configured separately in the Colors tab under "Countdown timer colors." See [Customizing your bundle appearance] for details.
