Special Project Cleaning- Ozone Machine Rental

Use this article when you have a Special Project Cleaning- Ozone Machine Rental job in the Host App. It covers what the job is about, what to bring, what to never skip, and what to do if something is wrong.

Who this is for: Hosts who claim odor treatment jobs.

What is this job about?

This job removes a strong odor from a Landing home. You clean the walls and surfaces in the affected areas, run an ozone machine while the home is empty, then come back to check the result and return the machine. The areas to treat are listed in the job description. See How to Treat Odors in a Landing Home.

Use your own ozone machine if you have one. Otherwise, rent one wherever is available and most convenient for you, and pay with your PEX Card, but do not rent from The Home Depot. Call ahead to check a machine is available, and ask Landing to load enough on your PEX Card for the rental and any deposit.

Don't skip these

Complete every task in the Host App as instructed, and upload the photos each task asks for. A job is not complete until every task is done. Pay particular attention to these:

  1. "Wall Care- Cleaning" and "Surface Cleaning." Clean the walls with the foaming wall cleaner and wipe down every surface in the areas listed before you start the machine, following the directions on each product.

  2. "Exit and Return." Leave the home while the ozone machine runs for 4 to 6 hours, following the directions that came with it. Nobody, including pets, should be inside while it runs.

  3. "Home Condition Reporting." When you come back, check the result, fix any staging or cleaning issues, and fill out the form before you leave.

  4. "Return Rented Item." Return the machine before you finish the job.

What if something is not right?

A member or a pet is in the home. Do not start the machine. Let Landing know through the chat.

The odor is still there after the treatment. Record it in "Home Condition Reporting" and let Landing know, so Landing can arrange the next step.

You cannot find a machine nearby, or there is a problem renting or returning it. Let Landing know through the chat.
