This article explains how to place a buy market order, which is an order to buy a stock immediately while the stock market is open.
Step by step:
Navigate to the stock or asset's details page. Here you can find the historical performance of stocks, statistics and indexes, and other useful information to consider when buying or selling a stock.
At the bottom of the screen, click "Invest" and then "Invest in (asset ticker)", or directly on "Invest in (asset ticker)", which will appear automatically if you do not currently own the asset.
Enter the amount in dollars you would like to buy of the asset, and we'll show you the estimated equivalent amount of shares.
Click "Next" and confirm that all details are correct. If you want to edit your order, just click the button in the upper left corner to return.
Click "Submit buy order" to submit your order.
Important:
You can still place buy orders while the market is closed, but those orders will only be executed when the market reopens. To learn how to cancel a buy order that is pending (because markets are closed), click here
The ticker of an asset or ticker symbol is an abbreviation or code used to uniquely identify publicly traded assets in the stock market
