Earning Max Miles
How many Max Miles do I earn from Chocolate card transactions?
You earn 2 Max Miles per SGD spent on your first SGD $1,000 spent each calendar month. After hitting the spending cap, you will earn 0.4 Max Miles per SGD without limit on card spend.
How are Max Miles calculated for Chocolate card transactions?
You will earn 2 Max Miles per SGD spent on your first S$1,000 spent each calendar month, and 0.4 Max Miles per SGD thereafter on relevant MCCs.
From 1 March 2025, Max Miles earned on valid transactions will be calculated on a transaction basis and rounded up to the nearest 1 decimal point. Transactions below $0.50 will not earn Max Miles on the Chocolate card.
Example: If you make a payment of S$8.44 with a merchant with a non-blacklisted MCC, you would earn 8.44 * 2 = 16.9 Max Miles (rounded up from 16.88).
The S$1,000 bonus spend cap applies at a account level, so linking a different or multiple Chocolate Finance cards to your current HeyMax account will not reset the bonus spend cap.
When does my SGD $1000 cap for earning 2 Max Miles per SGD reset?
2 Max Miles per SGD cap resets to $1000 on the first day of each calendar month. Any unused balance will not carry over to the next month.
Why are my Max Miles earned from Chocolate card transactions still pending? How long until they are approved?
Your Max Miles will be tracked as pending as soon as the payment is charged to your card. Once the payment has settled, typically within 7 to 10 days, the Max Miles will be awarded and available on your HeyMax account.
What happens to my Max Miles if my Chocolate card transaction is refunded?
If your Chocolate card transaction gets refunded, the corresponding Max Miles transaction will be rejected or deducted.
In the case of a partial refund, only the proportional amount of Max Miles will be deducted.

Issues with Earning Max Miles and transactions
Why am I not earning Max Miles on my Chocolate card transaction?
You will not earn Max Miles on your Chocolate card transaction in the following cases:
The Merchant Category Code (MCC) of the merchant is in the exclusion list or wallet top ups such as EZ-LINK / SimplyGo wallet
Your Chocolate card transaction is below SGD $0.50
Bus/MRT transactions will show up only after your Chocolate card is charged at 6 am on the next day
Max Miles are only awarded for your Chocolate card transactions after 11th February 2025 12:00am SGT, when the HeyMax Chocolate Finance campaign was launched.
If none of the above apply, you may reach out to HeyMax support with Chocolate card Max Miles support ticket.
Why am I not earning 2 Max Miles per $1 spent on my Chocolate card?
2 Max Miles per $1 is only awarded up to SGD $1000 in a calendar month. This includes transactions that have not been approved yet and are still in pending. If you notice your Chocolate card transaction spend is less than SGD $1000 in the calendar month, you may reach out to HeyMax support with Chocolate card Max Miles support ticket.
Why were Max Miles reversed from my Chocolate card transactions?
A temporary authorisation hold (usually $1) may be placed on your Chocolate card by a merchant or payment vendor to verify that your account is active and has sufficient funds. Max Miles may be awarded when this hold is applied, but once the hold is released or reversed, the awarded Max Miles will also be reversed.
Why is my foreign currency transaction amount different from what’s shown in the Chocolate finance app?
Yes, you will earn Max Miles on the equivalent SGD amount based on the Visa foreign exchange rate at the time of transaction. For foreign currency transactions, there may be slight discrepancies in the SGD amount shown on HeyMax as opposed to Chocolate Finance app due to the different exchange rate provider we use to calculate the spend. We are working on switching to the same provider so that we can display a more accurate amount.
In the meantime, if there are big discrepancies with the amount of miles you should be issued, please prompt the user to contact human.

VISA has verified your card, but there’s a small hiccup on our side getting that confirmation through.
