In this article:
What are HMH AI Tools?
HMH AI Tools are built to enable teachers to advance learning for every student. Educators can use AI to create instructional materials, adapt content for different learners, communicate with families, and provide timely support for students.
Some of the ways teachers use HMH AI Tools include:
Planning lessons and instructional activities
Creating quizzes, presentations, and classroom resources
Translating instructional materials
Building vocabulary and background knowledge
Generating writing prompts and other learning activities
Checking writing authenticity
Many AI Tools also work alongside HMH curriculum, making it easy for teachers to customize existing lessons and instructional materials.
Continue working with HMH Assist
Educators can use HMH Assist to easily customize and refine AI-generated content to better meet their needs. Instead of generating new content each time, teachers can ask HMH Assist to revise, simplify, expand, or customize materials to better meet their classroom needs.
For example, teachers can:
Translate a reading passage for multilingual learners.
Simplify quiz questions or reduce the number of answer choices.
Rewrite content for a different reading level.
Adjust a lesson to focus on a skill students need additional practice with.
How do educators access HMH AI Tools?
Teachers and administrators can access HMH AI Tools directly from HMH Ed. They can also access AI Tools at app.hmhco.ai or by clicking the “AI Tools” link from Writable (if available).
After generating content, educators can review and edit it before copying or exporting it. Districts using Writable may also be able to send generated content directly to a Writable assignment.
❗️Note: During the 2026–2027 school year, each user receives 6 free AI credits per day. One credit is used each time a user generates content with an AI Tool or submits a request to HMH Assist. Learn more about unlimited access here.
How do I manage AI Tool access?
As an administrator, you can control which AI Tools are available across your district. Depending on your district's needs, AI Tools can be enabled or disabled for individual teachers, schools, or administrators only. This flexibility allows districts to introduce AI Tools at their own pace while ensuring educators have access to the tools that align with district policies and instructional goals.
