As HMH AI Tools become a core part of instructional planning, lesson design, and coaching workflows, it’s important that educators can easily share the content they generate. The Share Link feature was designed to help teams quickly access each other’s AI-generated outputs while ensuring content remains secure.
In this article:
How to Generate a Share Link
Select an AI Tool and fill in the appropriate details. Then click "Generate".
Once your output is generated, you can make any direct adjustments within the editor or use HMH Assist to refine the content. When you're ready to continue, click “Select your next step…” at the bottom of the screen.
Next, select "Share this lesson" and click on the arrow.
Decide whether you want to include the HMH Assist chat history by checking or unchecking the box. Including the chat history allows recipients to see the prompts, refinements, and conversations that led to the final output. Then click "Create Share Link".
The Share Link will then be generated. Copy the link by clicking on the copy icon or "Copy Link". Once copied, you can share the link with others. Anyone with the link will be able to preview part of the output immediately, and log in to view the full content.
💡Note: You can also share previously generated outputs by opening them from My History. Once the session is open, follow steps 2–5 to create a Share Link.
How to Access AI Tools Outputs
When someone shares an AI Tools output with you using a Share Link, you can quickly preview and access the full content. Here’s what to expect when opening a shared link:
Open the Share Link by clicking on the link. If you're not logged in, an overview of the session will appear, along with a preview showing roughly 25% of the generated output.
Log in to view the full content. To protect user data and ensure secure access, you must log in using your district or HMH credentials.
When you log in, you’ll see the complete session.
If you don't have access to the program, the content is read only. You will have the ability to view the entire output, but you cannot edit or make a copy of it.
If you have program access, you will be able to make a copy in order to make any edits or interact with HMH Assist.
Once you have make a copy of the session, it is automatically added to your "My History" tab, allowing you to revisit it whenever needed.
If you're not seeing the full content after logging in, check out this article for troubleshoot steps.
