Engagement surveys FAQ

This guide covers common questions and answers about engagement surveys, the results, and what employees see.

For a more comprehensive overview, read Engagement survey overview.

Can people see each other's responses?

No. Responses are anonymous to everyone, including administrators. Results appear only as aggregated scores and comments for groups that meet the anonymity threshold. To learn more, visit How anonymity works in engagement surveys.

Can I run continuous surveys and deep-dives together?

Yes. Set your programme to deep-dives mode, then add pulse surveys to run between the deep-dives. To configure this, visit How to build an engagement survey.

Why are some groups missing from my results?

A group's results appear only once it reaches the anonymity threshold, which defaults to five responses. Groups below that threshold stay hidden to protect individuals.

When does a survey go out after I start the programme?

A survey opens on the next scheduled send day, based on your cadence and timing. If you start the programme on a day that matches the schedule, the first survey goes out that day. To set the schedule, visit How to build an engagement survey.

Can I send a one-off survey, such as an onboarding or exit survey?

No. Surveys are sent by your engagement programme on its schedule. Standalone onboarding or exit surveys aren't available. To gather engagement feedback for part of the organisation, set audience filters on your programme instead.

Can I run different survey cycles for specific offices or countries?

No. A programme runs one schedule for its whole audience. To focus on a specific group, use audience filters and reporting segments. To learn how, visit How to build an engagement survey.

Can I export engagement reports?

No. Engagement results are viewed in the reporting tabs in Humaans. To understand each view, visit Engagement survey reporting.

What's the difference between the aggregation period and the comparison baseline?

The aggregation period controls how far back responses are included when calculating a score. The comparison baseline controls which past run that score is measured against to produce a trend. To learn more, visit Engagement survey reporting.
