You can update characters in your video at any time — whether you want to swap them out entirely or adjust the look/voice of a custom character you already created. Here’s how to do it.
1. In the Editor, go to the Script Tab
Open your video.
Navigate to the Script tab.
Find the character you want to update.
2. Choose a Different Character
If you want to replace the character with a new one:
Click the Character dropdown next to their name.
Select a new character from the list.
This will assign the new character to all scenes where that character appears.
3. Edit an Existing Custom Character
If you want to adjust a custom character instead of replacing them:
Open the Character dropdown.
Click the pencil (edit) icon next to your custom character.
Make your updates (appearance, voice, or both).
Note: Only custom characters can be edited. Stock Hypernatural characters cannot be modified.
4. Regenerate Your Video
After you’ve made your character changes, click Regenerate.
You’ll see three options depending on what you updated:
Regenerate Images
Choose Images if you changed only the character’s look.
This will regenerate all images in the video, not just scenes with that character.
Regenerate Audio
Choose Audio if you changed only the character’s voice (or narrator voice).
This will regenerate all audio in the video, not just the lines affected.
Regenerate Both
Choose Both if you changed both appearance and voice.
This will regenerate everything (all images and all audio).
5. Review Credits and Confirm
Before regeneration starts, you’ll see the credit cost for the update.
Review the amount and click Confirm to proceed.
