Insert a scene in the Script editor (adds narration)

Edit scenes and narration to build your story

Updated this week

You can insert a new scene directly from the Script editor when you want to add new dialogue or narration to your story. After you add a scene, you can set who speaks it, tweak captions, and generate audio/visuals.

Unlike inserting a scene from the timeline, this method changes your script and requires audio regeneration.

On desktop: Add scene with new script

  1. Open the Editor.

  2. In the left‑hand menu, click Script.

  3. Click Edit Script.

  4. Find the scene after which you want to insert a new one. Click the “+” icon next to that scene. A blank new scene appears below it.

  5. Type the new scene’s narration. This becomes the spoken audio and the written captions.

  6. Set the Narrator/Character from the dropdown for the new scene so the correct voice reads it.

  7. Click Save, then Save & Regenerate Audio. Review the credit cost and confirm.

  8. This adds a blank (black) scene with narration.

  9. To add visuals, select the swap icon, and

    1. Generate new to enter a prompt and generate a new image, or

    2. Open the Media tab → insert from Library, Uploaded media, or previously Generated media.

On mobile:

  1. In the editor on mobile, select Script.

  2. Click Edit Script.

  3. Find the scene after which you want to insert a new one. Click the “+” icon next to that scene. A blank new scene appears below it.

  4. Type the new scene’s narration. This becomes the spoken audio and the written captions.

  5. Set the Narrator/Character from the dropdown for the new scene so the correct voice reads it.

  6. Click Save, then Save & Regenerate Audio. Review the credit cost and confirm.

  7. This adds a blank (black) scene with narration.

  8. To add visuals, select the Scene, then:

    1. Select Generate to enter a prompt and generate a new image, or

    2. Open the Media tab → insert from Library, Uploaded media, or previously Generated media.
