Choosing between Auto-Animate and Image First

Understand the difference between the two video creation modes and when to use each one.

When creating a video in Hypernatural, you'll choose how you want to build it:

  • Auto-Animate generates and animates your shots in one step

  • Image First lets you build a storyboard of your shots before animating

Auto-Animate

Hypernatural generates your shots and adds motion in one go. Dialogue is baked into each shot's animation prompt and plays out through lip-sync and movement. Narration is added to the voiceover track automatically.

Best for:

  • Getting a finished video quickly

  • When you have a clear idea and trust the AI to handle the visuals

  • Simple narratives without complex character interactions

Image First

Hypernatural generates your shots as stills first. You review and refine each shot — like building a storyboard — before committing to animation. Once everything looks right, you animate.

Narration lives on the voiceover track. Dialogue is added to each shot's animation prompt and brought to life through lip-sync and motion when you animate.

Best for:

  • Videos with characters and dialogue where timing matters

  • When you want more control over how each shot looks before animating

  • Complex scenes where you expect to iterate

Which should I choose?

If you're not sure, start with Image First. It gives you a chance to catch anything that doesn't look right before animation — which saves time compared to re-animating after the fact.
