Unlike narration, which lives on the voiceover track, dialogue is part of the animation itself. It's added through the Animate & Dialogue Prompt on each shot, which tells the AI what a character should say and how they should say it when the shot is animated.
Three ways to add dialogue
1. Start with a script
If you include dialogue in your initial prompt or script, Hypernatural will automatically pull those lines into each shot's Animate & Dialogue Prompt before generating.
Example script format:
[Scene: Bright studio kitchen, morning light, coffee brewing]Narrator: Great content doesn't have to take all day.@Sofia: I made this entire campaign before my second coffee.@Sofia snaps her laptop shut and grins at the camera.
Character lines and action notes will be included in the animation prompt for the relevant shot.
2. Use the chat
You can add or change dialogue for a specific shot through chat:
"Make @Sofia say 'I made this entire campaign before my second coffee' in shot 2"
"Add a line in shot 4 where @Sofia turns to camera and says 'Try it for free'"
3. Use the shot menu to edit the prompt directly
Hover over the shot, open the ⋮ menu, and click Animate. This pre-fills the chat with the shot's current Animate & Dialogue Prompt — including any existing dialogue — so you can see exactly what's stored and edit it.
Example prompt:
"If you're creating content for your brand, this changes everything," @Sofia says, then holds up her phone to the camera.
Send the message to regenerate the shot with the updated dialogue.
Tips
Keep dialogue short — it needs to fit naturally within the shot's duration
Describe action alongside dialogue to guide how the character moves and reacts
If dialogue isn't showing up as expected, open the shot's ⋮ menu and click Animate to see its current Animate & Dialogue Prompt pre-filled in the chat — that's where the final instructions live
To change dialogue after a shot is already animated, update the prompt and re-animate the shot
