How to create new user role or edit role permissions?

Learn how to manage User Roles and Permissions

Important notes

Creating new User Roles and setting up Permissions is by default accessible to Super Admin only.

User roles and permissions are part of the Settings → User Management → Roles section.


Creating a new user role and setting up permissions

  1. Navigate to Roles section inside of Settings → User Management

  2. Click on "Add new role"

  3. new window will open on the right, where you'd be able to:

    1. Set new role name

    2. Allow menu access by switching toggle button to ON

    3. Define permissions inside the menu
      By choosing between Full and Exclusive,
      or even selecting specific features or pages within the menu

  4. After you're done with creating new role, confirm setup by clicking on the "Create Role" button

In case you'd like to change permissions settings, return back to Settings → User Management → Roles section, and click on the "Pencil" button to edit.


Editing permissions for existing User role

  1. Navigate to Settings → User Management → Roles section

  2. Locate the role you'd like to edit and click on "Pencil" button to edit

  3. Permissions menu will appear on the right and choose which menu and sections inside the menu you'd like to allow or disallow

  4. Confirm settings by clicking on "Update role" button

Whenever you encounter an issue reported by your users that they can't access certain data or to see leads in different stages in Global Data, first thing you should look into are Roles and Permissions.

But, bear in mind that changing permissions for a certain role will affect all users assigned with the role you've edited.

Therefore, in case you'd like to provide specific users with additional access, than others in the team should have, always create a new role, specifically for the person or group of users (e.g. Senior Closers).
