Introduction
The PTT Registry Page enables general users to generate a report at certain schedule for all the instruments located in a specific area. This feature is useful when only a group of instruments within a specific tunnel range need to be reported and viewed.
To access this page: Click on the top left corner to open the side bar, click on ‘PTT Registry’ tab to access the page.
The PTT Registry Page contains the following sections:
GIS Map View: it provides GIS Map panel to visualize the selected zone and included instruments
Zone Registry Table: it shows all the zones available for auto-report. Users can directly use the available zone here to customize the zone area to fit the needs.
PTT Toolbox: it contains the zone editing functions, toolbox for measuring, GIS Layers management, and Legends control.
1. GIS Map Panel Tools
This section provides details about the general functions about GIS Map View.
Zoom in/out: Adjust map scales by using this button or simply scrolling the mouse.
Full Screen: Click to enter full screen mode.
Base map: Click to open the base map panel, where users can choose different map to be displayed.
Layers: Click to open the layer panel, where users can turn on/off any layers to be displayed/hidden on the map, by clicking on the layer item.
Instrument Names: Toggle to turn on/off the instrument names. This function helps users to locate instruments within a selected zone.
2. Zone Report Registry Table Introduction
This section introduces the Zone Registry table fields and the steps on how to create zone registry for zone configuration.
1) Zone Registry Table Introduction
ID: it is the special ID code for each PTT Zone, defined by the system.
PTT Title: it is the title named by users, for easy understanding of the use of this zone
Time to generate: it shows the scheduled time to generate the report with instrument data in this selected zone.
Generate report: tick the box to enable the auto-generation setting.
Control Line: Zones required to be set along a control line, in order to locate the relative zone of this project.
Chainage: it shows the location of the zone by chainage along the control line.
Chainage Start / Finish: it shows the location of the zone by chainage starting point and finishing point along the control line.
Category: it shows the category which the PTT Zone belongs to.
Last Generated On: it records the latest time when the report was generated.
Time Stamp: it shows the time stamp when the setting was created.
Notes: contains all the brief / additional information for this PTT Zone.
2) Filtering / Viewing more Details
Filtering: Click on the filter icon ‘’ next to the column header, type to search for the name, tick to select one or multiple items to be filtered out.
Column Chooser for more information: Click on the column chooser icon ‘’ at the right top corner of the section. Click and drag the item into the table, to view more information.
3. PTT Registry Toolbox Introduction
This section introduces the general functions provided in the PTT Registry Toolbox.
1) PTT Registry Tab
This tab provides an extension setting panel for zone configuration. All the existing information has been shown in Zone Registry Table in Section 2. The extended new functions are introduced below:
RESET: Click to reset all the existing settings
Show Control Line: show/hide control line on the GIS Map
Add Time stamp: tick to add time stamp and record the date and time once configured the setting.
Sketch Images: Click to open the drop-down list and select an image to be generated together with the report.
Zones: Region displays detailed settings for the region to report on. The detailed steps on configuring the zones are shown in Section 5.
2) Toolbox Tab
The measuring tool is available in this tab. It is useful when you wish to include certain instruments on the map, as it can measure and provide you the distance of zone to be configured.
3) GIS Layers Tab
This tab provides a tool for display/hide layers.
To display / hide layers: simply click on the layer item to show/hide the layer.
To set transparency: click on the ‘arrow’ in each layer and drag the bar to adjust the layer transparency.
To view further information: Click on the ‘information’ icon on each layer to view the layer information.
4) Legends
This tab provides a tool to toggle on / off the instrument icons to be shown on the GIS Map.
4. Steps on Creating a new Zone Report Registry
This section provides steps about how to create a new Zone Report Registry, for the purpose of configuring the zone area to generate the report.
Step 1: Click on ‘Edit Grid’ to enter edit mode
Step 2: Click on ‘+Add’ to add a new zone report registry
Step 3: Fill in all the fields as required:
ID: pre-defined by the system.
PTT Title: enter the zone title, for easy understanding of the use of this zone.
Time to generate: schedule a date and time to auto-generate the report.
Generate report: tick the box to enable the auto-generation setting.
Control Line: Click to select a control line from the drop-down list. Zone will be selected along the control line.
Chainage: enter the chainage value. it shows the location of the zone by chainage along the control line.
Chainage Start / Finish: enter the chainage start value and end value. it shows the location of the zone by chainage starting point and finishing point along the control line.
Category: Click to select a category from the drop-down list. it shows the category which the PTT Zone belongs to.
Last Generated On: auto-filled by system.
Time Stamp: auto-filled by system. it shows the time stamp when the setting was created.
Notes: enter additional information for this PTT Zone.
Step 4: Click on ‘Save’ to save all the changes.
NOTE: The reporting region must be configured by creating a new zone report registry in this Section 4 and then configuring in Section 5 the exact dimensions of this zone to contain the necessary instruments and report on them.
5. Steps on Configuring a new Zone to be Reported
This section provides steps about how to create a new zone to include all the necessary instruments to be auto reported.
NOTE: You must complete the steps in Section 4 to obtain a new zone reporting register so that you can configure the exact dimensions for the new zone in this section.
1) Steps on Configuring Zone Dimensions:
Step 1: In the Zone Report Registry Section at the bottom of the page, tick the box to select one existing registry to configure the zone area fields.
Step 2: On the right top corner of the page, click on the arrow button to open the PTT Registry Toolbox. Scroll down to locate the zone area, where you can adjust the zone area to include certain instruments and/or other data points to be included and generated in an auto-report.
Step 3: Click on ‘+Add’ button to create a zone for this Registry.
Step 4: Click the Select Zone and open the drop-down list to select a specific zone to be configured. The available zones in this drop-down list have been configured with specific zone fields in the Section 2.
Step 5: The Zone Fields configured for the selected zone will display and function. Click and enter specific numbers for each zone fields, in order to extend / adjust the zone area to be auto-reported.
NOTE: Please refer to the next section of Explanation on Zone Fields to fill in this section.
Step 6: Click on ‘Save’ button to save all the changes; or Click on ‘Delete’ button to delete this zone area.
2) Explanation on Each Zone Fields – Please read
Chainage Start, End, Control line: In the Zone Report Registry table, the chainage start and chainage finish locate the range of the zone along the control line chainage.
FORWARD: Named Forward, it represents the extension of the area outside the defined chainage range, forward in the chainage direction.
BACKWARD: Named Backward, it represents the extension of the area outside the defined chainage range, backward in the chainage direction.
RIGHT: It is named Right Wing and represents the extension of the area outside the defined chainage range, extending to the right in the chainage direction.
LEFT: It is named Left Wing and represents the extension of the area outside the defined chainage range, extending to the left in the chainage direction.
DISTANCETOZONE: It is named Distance to Zone and is used to define the distance of a zone, that is outside of the chainage range, to the chainage starting point.
RANGEOFZONE: It is named Range of Zone and is used to define the range of the zone that is outside of the chainage range.
Example of using Zone Area Fields to extend / adjust the zone area:
Case 1: Backwards 1m v.s. Backwards 30m
Case 2: Forwards 60m v.s. Forwards 300m
Case 3: Left Wing 60m v.s. Left Wing 10m
Case 4: Right Wing 70m v.s. Right Wing 150m
Case 5: Distance to Zone 100m v.s. Distance to Zone 300m
Case 6: Range of Zone 100m v.s. Range of Zone 300m
