1. Introduction
The Monitoring Outstanding page automates data uploads to GeoSens and tracks scan execution times. It notifies users of failed scans, highlighting discrepancies between scheduled readings and actual data records, such as missing readings. This ensures effective data management by keeping users informed of any issues.
2. Page Navigation
Sign in to GeoSens.
In the left‐hand menu expand Monitoring Status → click Outstanding Items.
3. Outstanding Data Grid Overview
This section provides introduction on each column in outstanding data table, and how to read the table to capture outstanding item.
Column | Description |
Instrument/Station | Identifies the particular instrument or station involved in the monitoring process. |
Instrument/Station Group Name | The name of this outstanding instrument / station group. |
Instrument/Station Group Type | Describes the type of the instrument or station group. |
Scan Executed On | The date and time when the scan for the instrument or station was initiated. |
Scan Run Completed On | The date and time indicating when the scanning process was completed. |
Monitor Set | An ID associated with monitoring status job setting package. |
Period to Scan | Configure the system to scan data from the last specified period, such as one week, counting back from the scheduled job execution time. |
Data Status Included | To include all selected instruments that is in the status of On-Hold, In Quarantine, and/or Disqualified. |
Scheduled Readings | The number of readings that are scheduled or intended to be taken during the monitoring process. |
Data Records Found | Shows how many data records were identified during the scan range. |
Outstanding Number | Indicates the discrepancy in scheduled readings, calculated as Outstanding Number = Data Records Found (Actual Reading Number) - Scheduled Readings. A positive value suggests overreads, whereas a negative value signals missing readings. |
Roles to View | Indicates the roles that are authorized to view this monitoring data, determining levels of permission. By default, Admin Only. |
Is Closed | Marks whether the monitoring task or issue is considered resolved or closed, typically a checkbox indicating status. It can be specified manually; or, when the notice has been sent, this field will auto tick to mark this outstanding item as closed. |
Notice Sent | A status indicating whether a notice related to the monitoring data has been sent to relevant parties. |
Noticed On | The date and time when the monitoring data was sent to recipients by notification. |
Notes | Additional information or remarks provided related to this data entry, often including updates by specific jobs or descriptions of changes. |
Additional columns can be dragged and dropped from the column chooser into the data table to customize the view and add more information.
ID: Unique identifier for each entry.
Monitor Freq Set ID: Identification number for a monitoring status job setting.
Created By: Email address of the person who created the entry.
Created On: Date and time when the entry was added.
Updated By: Email address of the person who last modified the entry.
Updated On: Date and time of the last modification.

Although the scan was scheduled for 4 readings, 6 records were successfully captured, having 2 overreads outstanding. The monitoring task has since been closed, and notices regarding the outstanding items have been sent to the relevant recipients.

This section provides introductions on general functions on the Monitoring Outstanding Items page.

5. Common Workflows
A. View Records Using Filters and Sorting
Use the available filter options by clicking on the funnel icons in the column headers to narrow down records based on specific criteria like Instrument/Station, Scan Executed On, or Data Status.
You can sort columns by clicking the header, toggling between ascending and descending order for efficient record management.
B. Expand more Data Columns with Column Chooser
Access the Column Chooser tool to pick which data columns you want visible in the grid view.
Drag and drop to the data grid, in order to add/remove columns to customize your view according to the data most relevant to your task.
C. Reorder Columns Using Drag and Drop
To change the sequence of columns for better data organization, click and drag the column headers to your desired position.
This functionality helps you align the data display with workflow preferences.
D. Create and Apply Custom Filters
Click "Create Filter" at the bottom of the data table to set custom filtering conditions tailored to your analysis needs.
E.g. Filters defines: Monitor Freq Set ID = 1; and also Instrument Type equals In-Place Inclinometer. à To filter out all the outstanding items, target those under the "Monitor Frequency" setting with ID = 1, as well as items of the "In-Place Inclinometer" instrument type.
Adjust filter settings for detailed querying to pinpoint specific data sets.
E. Pagination Controls
Navigate through multiple pages of records using the pagination controls at the bottom of the grid.
Select a specific page number or use arrows to move through pages seamlessly.
