1. Introduction

This page is used to configure and review alarm trigger limits for instruments across different revisions. These settings define threshold values that will trigger warning (AMBER) or critical (RED) alarms when the measured data exceeds specific conditions. This ensures timely alerts for abnormal readings in monitoring systems.

2. Page Navigation

  1. Sign in to GeoSens.

  2. Click on left-hand corner icon 'Setting', click to expand 'INIT | REV | CALI | DATA'→ click REV.Alarm Trigger Limits.

    1. Instrument Type Filter: select instrument type to filter out and narrow down the list.

    2. Alarm Trigger Limits Data Table: view and manage alarm limits details.

    3. Function Bar: edit, export, delete, or copy alarm limits.

3. Instrument Type Filter

To use instrument type filter

Dropdown menu to filter alarm configurations by a specific instrument type used in the project (e.g., Load Cells, Inclinometers, etc.).

4. Alarm Trigger Limit Data Table

4.1 Field Introduction

Each row in this grid represents an alarm trigger setup for a particular instrument revision.

Column Name

Description

Instrument Type

The type/category of the instrument for which the alarm is defined.

Instrument Name

The unique identifier of the instrument associated with the alarm configuration.

Revision

Configuration revision number. Used to distinguish between different versions of alarm settings.

Alarm Level

Indicates severity of the alarm, e.g. 🔴 RED (Critical) or 🟠 AMBER (Warning). *Different Alarm Levels are customized in project setting - Alarm Level Set.

Data Column

Specifies the monitored parameter (e.g., Force, Pressure, Displacement), and its unit/type.

Trigger Limit

The primary numeric threshold. When exceeded, an alarm will be triggered.

Trigger Limit 2

Optional secondary threshold for advanced conditions (e.g., dual-limit checks).

Trigger Applied To

Indicates which values the alarm logic applies to. Commonly "1: Positive" meaning the condition checks positive deviation only.

Alarm On

✓ (Check mark) indicates whether the alarm is active and applied.

Notes

Optional text field for explanations or documentation. (Currently empty in this view.)

NOTE: High-level fields like Instrument Type, Instrument Name, and Revision No. are non-editable. Only alarm limit related fields—Alarm Level, Data Column, Alarm Limit—can be edited.

NOTE: To create a new row / record for specific instrument revision, please use Data Entry Page for bulk-uploading.

4.2 Additional Information Column

Additional columns can be dragged and dropped from the column chooser '' into the data table to customize the view and add more information.
