1. Introduction

The Property Types and Codes Page in SensGrid Geosens is designed to manage and configure property types & codes for instruments and station groups.

Property Types and Codes of Instrument/Station-Group contain pre-defined configuration Items like PARAM, CARRY, etc. in the Revision Property (REV).

CARRY may contain Carry Over items when PARAM contains more configuration items, like Chart, Report, Baselines, various Parameters/Factors, etc.

By doing this, additional configuration items can be introduced easily. The user can simply setup some default values for each Instrument/Station-Group Type.

Users can:

  1. Import Items of Property Types and Codes for each Instrument or Station-Group Type.

  2. Re-import properties when any new item is introduced or item/data is changed from the SensGrid Global level.

  3. Select and edit property data values/content of an Instrument or Station-Group.

  • Use descriptive notes for properties to ensure clarity for future users.

  • Regularly review default values and data types to ensure accuracy.

10. Troubleshooting

1) Unable to Import Properties

  • Solution: Ensure the selected instrument/station-group type and property type are correct. There is also one possibility that No Property Types and Codes has been setup in the Global Level for this Type or Property.

2) Property Items have been updated, or new Items are introduced in the Global Level

  • Solution Case I: Use the "Overwrite" option if any property item in Global has been updated/Changed. However, please be noticed that any property data value or text value in the project must be backup as they will be overwritten.

  • Solution Case II: Use the "Add Missing" option if only new items from Global need to be imported, or when deleting property records which require to be updated is possible.

3) Issue: Incorrect pre-defined Data values or Text values in the project level

  • Solution Case I: Use the "Clean & Re-Import" option to reload property records, if the entire Property Types and Codes of the Type can be replaced.

  • Solution Case II: Use the "Overwrite" option to re-Import and replace current values in the Project Level.

  • Solution Case II: Use the "Add Missing" option to re-Import after deleting incorrect property records.

3) Issue: Missing all or some of Property Types & Codes records

  • Solution: Select Instrument/Station-Group type, the referred table (e.g. RevParam or RevCarry) and Import all or missing Property records. Then the user should check and update Property Title and default value/text value if required.
