1. Purpose

The Station-Group Types page displays the predefined templates that categorize how station-groups are structured (e.g. “Survey 1D Settlement Group”, “Groundwater Wells Group”). You can rename or swap icons for these types, but you cannot add new types or remove existing ones.

2. Navigation

  1. Sign in to GeoSens.

  2. In the left-hand menu expand Station-Group → click Station-Group Types.

3. Page Layout & Controls

Control

Action

Edit Grid

Toggle inline-edit mode for the Station Type and Icon columns only.

Export

Download the full list of station-group types as a CSV for offline reference or audit.

Edit

Open the side-panel to change the Station Type Alias and Icon for the selected row.

Below the toolbar is the Types Grid, with these columns:

Description

Optional notes about the type (read-only).

Enabled

✓ if the type is active (read-only).

Admin Only

✓ if restricted to admin view (read-only).

NOTE: All available instrument types are pre-configured in global and tenant level, to assign the license of specific instrument types into this project. If the required instrument type is not available in the instrument type list, please contact administrator.

4. Viewing & Filtering

  • Sort: Click any column header to sort ascending/descending.

  • Filter: Hover under a column header and click the funnel icon to narrow results (e.g. show only Enabled types).

  • Pagination: Use the controls at the bottom to change page size (10, 20, 40, 60) or move between pages.

5. Editing Station-Group Type Alias & Icon

Quick inline edits: Click Edit Grid, make changes directly in cells, then click Save Grid.

A. Inline-Grid Edit

  1. Click Edit Grid.

  2. The Station Type Alias and Icon cells become editable:

    • Alias: Click to type a new user-friendly name.

    • Icon: Click to select a different SVG from the library.

  3. When finished, click Save (checkmark replaces Edit Grid) to apply changes—or Cancel to discard.

B. Side-Panel Edit

  1. Select the row’s checkbox for the type you wish to modify.

  2. Click Edit in the toolbar.

  3. In the panel that opens, change:

    • Station Type Alias

    • Icon

  4. Click Save to commit or Cancel to exit without saving.

Note: You cannot add new rows or delete existing station-group types on this page.

6. Best Practices

  • Descriptive Aliases: Ensure your Station Type Alias clearly conveys the group’s purpose (e.g. “1D Settlement Survey Group”).

  • Consistent Icons: Use intuitive, monochrome SVGs that scale well at 24×24 px.

  • Audit Exports: Periodically Export the grid to CSV to maintain an offline record of any alias or icon changes.
