1. Introduction

In-grid copy and paste is a feature that allows users to copy and paste multiple cells at once directly within a Geosens data grid (e.g. copy from a spreadsheet). It’s designed for bulk operations, making it easy to change, duplicate or move large blocks of data quickly.

Descriptive steps below:

  1. Filter out required data cells: Using filter icon next to the column header, to filter out the specific instrument type and/or specific instrument names. This can get all Cells together so the Copy & Paste action can be done at one goal.

  2. Enter editing mode: On the top-right corner, click on 'Edit Grid' to enter inline editing mode. Users can make changes directly in any cells.

  3. In-Grid Copy and Paste:

You can update data in two ways:

    1. Single-cell paste – Copy data from one cell in Excel or another source, and paste it into a single target cell in the Geosens grid using Ctrl + V or right-click paste.

    2. Bulk paste – Copy multiple cells (e.g., a column, 1x8 or block, 6x5), select the first Cell (i.e. Left-Top Cell), and then paste them into the grid starting from the selected cell. The data will fill in automatically across the corresponding rows and columns, saving time and effort.

  4. Save changes: Click on 'Save' to save all the changes.
